On the Julianne Hough topic...  I hadn't planned to follow season 19 and that made it a bit clearer that I won't.  Even with her compliment for Meryl, it didn't read to me as genuine and coming from the heart.  More like setting her up for tall poppy syndrome in the viewer's eyes.
Might look at Artem as a pro though, just curious on how he would be.  Not sure why Alison Holker is there, she is a Mum in a relationship, isn't she?  Maybe it will be a good pairing with an older star who won't do the romance angle.  Do you think they have the stars lined up first and then hire the pro's according the stars wishes and to match personalities?

Dunno how that works, Gabriele. I heard that Meryl had requested being paired with Derek--probably because she knew him from the choreography he did with her and Charlie. I didn't know celebs could request a partner...but don't know much anyway!

I think Julianne is tainted by Hollywood now. Just a gut feeling I have. But I know she had a difficult childhood so she must have issues. So many "stars" do--and can't find stable relationships. I feel kind've sorry for her but otoh you can be whoever you want to be If you decide to be that. She no longer floats my boat at all so I may not watch either.

This was on our message board a while back: (maybe tumblr)
1. Mark was cranky because he didn't get Meryl.
2. He was crankier because he got Candace.
3. He was crankiest of all because Candace kept staying on!

Do you remember an interview Maks gave (with Meryl by his side), saying that if you get voted off, there is relief if you have a partner who's not that good. Relief, because now you don't have to keep working with them. (That would explain #3 above.)

Indeed it would!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. I've been checking too!! LOL

I'm here too. I've known lots of quilters, so I was interested. I, myself, have never done it but have seen some gorgeous ones made by others. My thing is counted thread embroidery, i.e, Cross-stitch, but it is extremely time-consuming, and I SURE wouldn't have time for it now.

Used to do tons of cross-stitch; now I mainly do regular embroidery for wall hangings or to use in a quilt. Made an owl quilt for my grandson's birthday last January (his favorite bird). Embroidered, I think, 7 blocks and made a twin sized quilt. He loved it!

I'll bet it was gorgeous!!

Hi Annie,  I have another song and wish it was the first one I thought of.  It would be excellent for MnM to sing this to each other in French, it's original language or English.   "If You Go Away" is its English title.  "Ne me quitte pas" is the French title.  I am posting three links in this post all in French by the following artists:  Jacques Brel, the composer; Sting, a rock musician: Robert Alagna, a wonderful operatic tenor who began as a cabaret singer.  My guess is that most of you are familiar with this song.  It is heartbreakingly beautiful.  I will then post English versions of the song in my next post to you.      Sting:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxmYDWVK50gJacques Brel, who composed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2wmKcBm4IkRoberto Alagna   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPZpdHtZ4JA

Maks (Bergen County Interview when asked about the kind of woman he would like to marry.)  "I'm drawn to success.  I want to be somebody's fan, excited about her life, her career, her choices."

HI, KOS

Glad you are here, KOS. Are you preparing music for your church? Are you the choir director or organist or do you sing in the choir?

LOL..maybe we need to add speedo's 101 to our class list????LOL

So all the dwts pros have to model them?! LOL

Of course because we need to know all about the different fabrics, etc. Putting that on the list and LMFAO as I type this.
