Awesome how embarrassed Meryl was--and how CUTE Maks was! In the piece I read on body language, it said that the crossed arms are a protective move for the person doing it. I noticed that Maks did that quite a lot in the beginning weeks but later on I don't think we ever saw it.
We should save that one in the video file, shouldn't we?
Thanks, CEK

SMASHING! I just love that dance--and you could soooo see their feelings toward each other that nite. Thanks, CEK!I was on again, off again about whether this was a showmance or real romance until this dance. And IMO it was not just that Meryl was an athlete that the dance had so much power in it. Real love gives you power and wings. In this dance more than any other, they were soaring with lots of direct eye contact.
I so agree with this. And I think the clean-shaven Maks looks so young and pure in this one. Not sure pure is a word I would regularly associate with Maks, but I think it was the love in his eyes.

Yes, tango, I agree with you. He definitely needs to shave. He looked good in HI, tho, too...but he had shaved (so was Meryl there because he seems to shave when she's around!! haha) and appeared rested and having fun. He still has love in his eyes, I think; certainly when talking about Meryl.
I agree that "pure" may not be quite the right word! How about refreshed or calmly refreshed?!! I do think whatever it is comes from Meryl, tho.....she puts him in a good place mentally. I soooo hope that all is right in the world there--and moving along. I actually do think that it is......just a hunch, however.

KOS: Thanks for all the lovely songs you post for us to enjoy! Love hearing about your musical experiences. I love music and really enjoyed learning music through piano lessons, band, etc. as a youngster. I can still plunk out a few things on the piano if I try hard!!!
My mom (93 last month) has had Alzheimer's for, now, at least 10 years (that we know of). She is well cared for in a home for AD patients in their last stages of the disease but it is heart breaking to see the changes in her--and to know that she is living her worst fear. She is in VA so will see her in October. Always difficult, but, yes, "The Long Goodbye".
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven." Ecc 3:1Annie and Jet, AD is such an awful disease. And "living her worst fear." captures the essence of the disease. I have watched a dear friend, one who was full of laughter and joy, become a very different person because of this disease. And I have always loved Ecc. 3:1.
It is so sad, but life is not fair. We visit Mom when we go to VA for us, not for her. She knows nothing and it is so sad; but these things are a part of life and we have to just take the lessons we can from them. Not sure what this lesson is--other than patience and knowing it is in God's hands, not ours--and that we can't know the reasons for everything. Just accept what is and be thankful for this day.
My mom does not have Alzheimers but she does suffer from dementia. She is 98 and also in a nursing home. About five years ago I came across these lovely words from Zeph. 3:17. "God joys over us with singing." C.S. Lewis has Aslan sing the world into existence in "The Magician's Nephew." And I so agree; our response should be gratitude for this day.

Love C.S.Lewis too....incredible intellect and vision on spirituality--in addition to being an extremely talented writer. I always find him so challenging to read because it is all so thought provoking; you can't absorb everything in a single reading.
So sorry about your mom too. Losing your mind is the worst.
