When Maya Angelou lots of folks posted quotes from her on my Facebook page. One of them I had not read before. I wrote the quote down but cannot find it tonight. However, it went something like this, "When someone tells you who he or she is, believe them." I was not thinking of Maks when I wrote the quote down, But it certainly applies. This is a man who would have invited Meryl to come along solely for the reason that she was his best dance partner ever and the most amazing human being ever. If she does not go, it will not be because Maks did not want to include her. We do not know, nor should we expect to know the circumstances. He may not have had the option. She may not have been available, etc., etc., etc., Charismatic men who do not have integrity are not men that moms and dads and exes like.
Very well expressed, KOS....you lose your integrity only once.

When the clip finished, one of the ones shown was the Road to the Finale which I rewatched. When Meryl is talking about the hand holding moment, he doesn't take his eyes off of her, and you can see his cheek twitch. That was the moment that did me in!Me to Tango...and the whole season is filled with moments like those
I too was deeply moved by Maks's reaction to Meryl telling that he was the first person whose hand she had asked to hold. In the background that I am from hand holding was a big big deal. Handholding connects and is deeply intimate. Maks, it seemed to me, was stunned and awed by Meryl's answer to his question. Who could possibly imagine a 27 year old beautiful young woman living in 2014 had not ever asked any other man to hold her hand? I too was done in. In fact I cried.
oh i cried during that too...the look on his face was pure awe when she answered him

Thank you April. I came back to check to see whether or not anyone else was still online here. I also wanted to tell you how much I agree with the many encouraging things you have had to say when we tend to waver. Your hand holding is magnificent. Kind of like Meryl's hand holding.
I think that we are the only two left. I am signing off for the night in about five minutes. I wish you sweet, sweet dreams.

Just saw the reveal. I don't know that many of the stars, but it looks like a promising cast. I know who Carrie will be rooting for! Val has the PLL girl.

Disappointed in the SYTYCD results- I wanted Zack to win. sigh.
I'm trying not to get too disappointed with the event of Maks heading to Italy with the bikini model, but I really don't think there is any other way to spin this. It's a very expensive trip at 50K a person. So, either he popped for 100K to take her or the jewelry business is paying for him and plus one (bikini model) to go. I understand this event is usually done in Phoenix and has raised 87 million since it's inception. Well, I've been in volved in charity fundraising and 87 million is really not that much for something that's promoted as the largest the state of AZ has and for the number of years it's been going. Personally I hate these kinds of events- they are really all kinds of fake, but maybe Maks can make connections. If the bikini model is his date ( and I wonder if we can really get around this because I don't see that she has that kind of money) then he'll just look like another Hollywood guy with a young chickie on his arm. This is not a kind of event Meryl would like. Sure she would love to go to Italy, but this is not just going to Italy. It's like a huge house party. Some people have hoped that Meryl was going, but she is already liking things on instagram this morning.
Maks hasn't liked anything Meryl has posted in ages and he liked the picture of the bikini model packing for this trip. I think it's clear that things are not so good in MnM land. It could be all Meryl's fault, but we will never know. Maybe Maks in real life is not how she wants to live her life. After all, he did say that DWTS was like a summer romance, and it could be over. The business about him never wanting to hurt her? Well, maybe he's not hurting her because it's not what she wants. We do believe that she saw him in LA when he got back from Hawaii. But he and the "fam" have not bothered to support her on her nomination for sportswoman of the year. I believe that if things were good with them, they would. That's what you do for friends and for partner's of friends.
My heart is breaking, but I'll get over it. Maybe Maks is one of those tragic figures that because of decisions he's made and is making is causing his life to go in a direction that he can't get away from.
I would be dancing off the ceiling if they could get together, but today I think that's not a possibility any time soon.
BTW, I understand from my daughter that these bloggers -- the bikini model and Val's new partner- can make tons of money being a blogger. If they get so many followers they get money from sponsors. So, it's become quite a business and the bikini model and her business partner go all over the world taking pictures of themselves in bikini's and posting them on their blog. This is their business! Bloggers even have conventions! who knew? well the pre-teens and teens know all about it!

I'm taping GMA, so maybe I'll run downstairs to see if they have revealed anything here -- CST.
We talked a lot last night about this Muhammed Ali charity event, and this is a question I always have about such things -- why not just donate the money and be done with it? I think it's ridiculous that people have to "see and be seen" at some fancy dinner, show, event of any kind, etc. in order to get money out of them for a worthy cause. If Mark Cuban is going to lend his plane for a charity event, why doesn't he just give the charity the money that it will cost to fly these people all over the place? I've thought this for years -- not just because of this M. Ali event.
If Maks were dancing again for DWTS season 19, he wouldn't be able to go all over the place, now would he? He would have to have just mailed in a check.
I've decided to just watch season 19 and "pretend" I don't care who wins. I always want to do that but somehow get sucked into really rooting for one particular couple. I want to focus on this new season and try not to care what M&M are doing. I need to remember the attitude of the 109-year-old man, Charlie White, whom I talked about yesterday -- Charlie learned to separate those things he could control from the things he could not; he didn't fret about matters beyond his power.
Lots to do today, so will check in later.
