Well, gals, I need to do a few things before I head off to read for a bit. Hoping we get some GOOD MAKSYL NEWS soon.... I am becoming impatient!!! Maybe Meryl told Maks to "get religion" before she comes out here!!! LOL It would be nice if they were both at dwts but I kinda am not sure he will be humble enough to go after Lizzie said he wont' have any more to do with them. Of course, that might be her goofy tweet thing. Guess we shall see! At least they will be in the same city, I would assume!!! Let us hope!
Good nite all--and sweet Maksyl dreams!

So is the rabbi a fortune teller or what?!! Getting a blessing to marry Meryl??!! No disrespect intended. This rabbi seems very conservative, and I think Maks was just messing around. He has said that although he identifies as Jewish (because of his father) that he is not very religious. If he did follow the Jewish religion, I'm pretty sure he would be a reformed Jew.
I agree but the tradition is still something he could explore. Those Orthodox Jews do some things--like not even flipping on a light switch on the Sabbath--that seems so over the top in our world.
really?? i didn't know that...but i don't really know much about Jewish traditions

yes and my grandmother used to say... "one of the biggest compliments you can recieve is to have a teenager invite you into their world".....i don't know where she had heard it
I was often the taxi driver on band and sports trips because we had the big van. It was always an eye-opener to sit there, driving along, and listen to the kids' conversations!! It also allowed me to occasionally comment and they learned to respect my opinion. They knew they could trust me. When my daughter was graduating she and a bunch wanted to go to Mexico on sort've a turn-around thing. Three of them came to me and asked if I would basically lie to another girl's mom about where they were going (saying she was spending the nite at our house) so this other girl could go with them. I looked at them and quietly said, "Hmmmm....if I were her mother, I wouldn't want another parent to lie to me. And, frankly, if something happened--an accident or whatever--where does that put me?!" Welll.....they all agreed they had never thought of that--and I was right! So I just told them to go with the girl and ask her mom because the worst she could say was no (and the girl was 18 anyway!). So they did that and the girl went with them!!! It was just something they felt they had to do--about a 6 hr. trip and they were home!! Just a teenage rite of passage, I guess!! I hope they all learned to tell the truth!yeah i have found with my own kids that most of the time if you just talk to them and help them see all sides of it and all the possilble consequences most of the time they make the right choice all on their own
Yes, they do. They are not stupid--and generally tell the truth. They just get caught up in the moment and the excitement--which is why we are PARENTS and are supposed to PARENT them!!! LOL

I have no doubt that he's talked with her about it, don't you think?Yes, I think they have. They have had a difficult time getting together, and everyone who thinks you can just jump on a plane any old time may not be aware of the cost. I don't think they (especially Meryl) have money to throw around like that. I think they have wanted to have more time together to see if things could work out. Maks has already been burned, so he may be more cautious this time. Ask me what I think about this after Monday night!!!
Oh, I"m sure they have plenty of airline miles banked so I don't think that is the problem. I think it is more a matter of their conflicting schedules stemming from the Olympics and promo contracts with her--and he also had international travel booked along with all the other stuff he did at JCP, BJ's, etc. while the iron was still hot.
I also suspect they both wanted to let the dwts connection cool off and see if hte feelings persisted before jumping into anything. But they did say that they planned to keep whatever they had going long after the show. So they obviously talked about it and were going to give it a chance.
yeah i think your right Jet

OH, yeah--they have to cook all their food the day before, they can't drive a car to temple (have to walk, which is why you see them walking on the side of the road on Saturday!), etc. It is a day of REST--and they mean REST!!
