Re: The Key to Life Is......

Hi Annie and Jet,

Thanks for reading my very long post and you kind comments.

And thanks for this info, Jet.
"I am in agreement with you that Maks is bound somewhere not to  say whatever he doesn't say.  I would agree that he pretty much knows how to cut loose and move on.  He has done it before but I'm sure it is also bittersweet.  It is always best to leave business relationships on a friendly note.  I'm sure Maks has tried to do that.

I heard or read that the Sherman Oaks studio is a franchise now--the first DWM franchise.  They needed the name and the advertising support and whatever other franchise bennies there are (high profile instructors, etc.) to try to turn it around apparently.  I think it has only been in business for about 6 mos.  I have no idea what the area and demographics of Sherman Oaks are like these days, but I rather suspect it's not like a higher income area that would be able to support a dance studio operation on its own.  I think they need to draw from a much larger area so need to be able to reach out effectively.  Plenty of people and space to tap into certainly but they have to promote, promote, promote.  Hopefully they will find success.  Not an easy time in CA to establish a new business and make a go of it.  All the folks with real jobs are leaving the state because of the taxes and lack of jobs."

Me neither. I just wonder how it all went south between Maks and dwts. I kinda think it may be been ugly.

I kinda think that, too, Jet. You know how Maks can get if Meryl isn't there to calm him.

DWTS
Part of me wonders if it was simply that DWTS did not expect him to get new representation that would make demands on Maks' behalf.  I just find it odd that there was all that hoopla about a big announcement on GMA and Wendy Williams was sure they were going to announce Maks as judge. Two variables: one is Maks's new representation; the other was the announcement about a DWM studioe coming to Sherman Oaks.  I believe that the question about Sherman Oaks was circulated just before the supposed announcement that Maks would be a judge on DWTS.  A week later, for the very first time JH's name surfaces.  Whatever happened, I believe that Maks is legally bound, and has been told so by his representation to say nothing.

I think you are onto something there, KOS. There is so much we don't know, but what you say here makes perfect sense.

Re: The Key to Life Is......

Well, goodnight, everyone. I have to be at work at 11:30am tomorrow. Yes, on Sunday, but it won't be every week. Enjoyed all the conversations with everyone. Hope no one was offended by my quote from Joan Rivers' book. Remember, her aim was to be funny, and she usually succeeded!

I have church in the morning, so I am going to say good night and wish you sweet, sweet dreams this night.  You deserve them.

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!
