I agree that he won't give up easily on "this one."   If things were not all right in Maksyl world, I think we would be able to see it on his face.   Even when he doesn't have his Meryl smile, he stlil looks happy.   Either they are moving forward (YES!) or there is still hope or we would know it from looking at him.  

 
HI, tango.....so sorry that your friend doesn't have the faith in Maks that we do but I can understand that there is often no point in trying to convince the non-believers of anything because their minds are made up. Good thing to pick your battles--and if she is a Derek fan, it's probably a waste of time and energy.

However, let's listen to Maks when he said, "She (Meryl) deserves me better than I was before" and "I'm different--let's be real!" Then he's said that Meryl is (one of) the best human beings he has ever met---and the best one in a very long time (I would say best one he has ever met and become involved with). Why would he want to lose that? He knows that he was often a jerk but must also realize (I think he must have had some therapy or counseling along the way) that he was miserable and this led to problems and attitudes (blow back) that he didn't need to create for himself. He is also very philosophical and quite spiritual in that he makes comments like "There was a reason it didn't happen before; it was meant to happen with 'this one'". He knows sometimes when two people come together there is a bigger reason for it. Sometimes a passing acquaintance that touches and molds us; sometimes much more. This, of course, is the "much more".

Sometimes we just have to smile inside and leave the rope on the ground. Time will tell.....not worth upsetting a friendship. If they end up in a lifelong relationship, we will have the best reason to smile!!

Thanks so much, Jet.   It would be so easy to get discouraged without the sisterhood supporting each other and talking us off the rail of the ship as we are ready to jump.    I just wanted to cry when I read that, though, not so much because of my friend, but because it made me think about some of the s**t Maks has to deal with as fallout from TPTB at DWTS making him into the bad guy.   I thought back to the show he did where they found the woman who just hated him unreasonably based on what she saw/perceived on TV.   He was finally able to win her over, but he shouldn't have to do that on such a large scale.  

I noticed she wasn't wearing any jewelry in the hospital pix except her good luck ring and earrings.

As well they should.....cuz quality people don't just come around every day! Maks knows what he found--no question about it. He ust needs to help resolve any insecurities she has--and maybe he has some as well about being a good enough provider and knowing how to be a good husband. He is a real romantic so his filter in a lot of things is through rose-colored glasses. Just wait'll Boris shows up and screams all nite!!! His exposure to kids, as seen in photos, is when they are happy or sleeping or getting an autograph, etc. We all know they don't come out that way!!!! Wait'll he doesn't know what to do when the baby is frantic or sick and can't tell him what's wrong!!! LOL We all have gone through it....and it ain't pretty!!! LOL Just comes with the territory.... I look forward to hearing those stories!!! HAHA

He'll be on the phone with the pediatrician, like my friend whose baby screamed everynight practically all night long. She had told the doctor, but he didn't think it was any big deal. So, one time, she called him at 2:00 a.m., held the phone up to the baby and said, "This is what I listen to every night! Believe it or not, the doctors in our town had their home phone numbers listed back then (probably in the 1970s).
 

OMG...can you see Maks the first time his baby  runs a little fever???.....he will drive that doctor crazy!!!

What have I missed since 5pm and what exciting news is happening???  Are we all ready for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT tomorrow???
