I wonder if she is thinking of someone in particular. This could describe Meryl but not Peta (because of the "hard to catch" phrase).
And as we all know, Maks liked to be chased not do the chasing. Ummm
I don't think that anyone is on board, and I have finally gotten on. I will probably make this one post and call it a night. Have spent the better part of the day working on the next three Beloved Community Potluck dinners.
April and CEK, I want you to know that you are in my prayers and on my heart throughout the day. April, except for measles and colds, I have never had to deal with the serious illness of a child and mine are 34, 39, and 41. And while I have aches and pains that come with my age, I have not had to suffer as you have this year, CEK. I like the phrase that some of my favorite writers use to describe my role, all our roles as we pray for you. We are "sitting in the dark" with you and holding your hands.
Eastcoast: We share a lot in common, but now and then we know that we will agree to disagree and still value each other. I personally have not read anything where Maks says he likes to be chased but doesn't like to do the chasing. What I have read is that he hasn't had to do the chasing because the women let him know when they are interested. And my guess is that he, like many men is terrified to do the chasing. (I have felt this way ever since I first began to teach and learned how vulnerable teenage boys are. Now Brene Brown's grounded research project documents this enormous fear that most men have.) Maks, as well as Meryl, have both made it a point to say that they both felt the immediate connection. He doesn't need to nor should he chase. What we do know is that he has her back, and she knows it; that she has his back, and he knows it. And we know that they communicate regularly. We get only the crumbs which is the way it should be. To quote St. Paul. and apply it here: "We know in part because we see in part. And because we see through a glass darkly, we can't even process and understand the whole truth of the little piece that we do see." This was a KOS translation of the second part of I Cor. 13. This chapter, all of it, is not only beautiful, it is immensely practical and very hard work.
I probably won't be on the board tomorrow night because I will be going to hear my younger son sing at a big fundraiser on both Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Sweet dreams to you all tonight.

April, I'm so sorry that your daughter has to go through this but she has the loving support of her family which is everything. You know that we are all in and are focused on lifting your family up in prayer, positive thoughts and continued hand holding. You are on our minds and in our hearts.
