In 2003, Bryan filmed and produced a documentary on Joe's Dad, Leroy, and on the founding of New Hope.  When Leroy Mitchell and his family arrived in DeKalb, Ill. it was still a sundown community, one of the last in the nation.  Leroy was NIU's Chance Program Director.

This is Sean Johnson who moderated the discussion.  Sean came to dinner number 3 to hear the panel discussion by the two police chiefs and moderated by Joe Mitchell.  He has now become friends with both police chiefs.  The NIU police chief and his family have made a commitment to come to every dinner, except for illness or when they are on vacation.  He is actively working at getting other NIU Policemen to come to the dinner.  Caption(Nick Brooks for Shaw Media)

yep....the tabs would want to tear and I would try taping them but that didn't work so well...LOL

And they didn't conform to the shape of the dolls very well either.  It was frustrating, but I loved cutting them out and working with them!!!  LOL
