CEK.   Hi, hi.   Hope it's all you've dreamed of so far.

I can't tell you how much I loved listening to Bill Bryson's book, gabriele. I had to stick a map of the continent on my desktop to refer to occasionally.  And what a strange continent in so many inexplicable ways.  Natives whose history goes back 40,000 to possibly 60,000 thousand years - yet, how did they get there and from where.  Some of the oldest fossils known to man.  The isolated environment for mammals - or are they reptiles? - to develop in.  And why so many venomous things?   The sheer expanse of the continent...some of it still un studied even today.  

He obviously is so very fond of Australia....he researches his topics deep and wide, and then has the most entertaining way of telling a story.  

You need to be careful not to be painting a fine line of detail between the wood trim and the wall while listening to it.....     Or, as yesterday, putting on mascara !  Because out of nowhere he'll have you busting out laughing.

I just finished listening this afternoon while working on some stuff.  And I'm sad to be done with it.

EXCEPT he reads his own book on another audio....A Walk in the Woods - about his trek attempting to walk the U.S's Appalachian Trail.   Our library has it...when it gets checked back in, I'll get it.

CEK update......she is in line to see Tinkerbell.   It rained in the afternoon, but is still hot.  She says to tell everyone "HI" and that she will try to get on the MB sometime tomorrow.
