Here's a new thread. Simply trying to eliminate overload and avoid problems.
But you could catch Jetmama's, Luv's, and gabriele's late night posts on the other one before we settle in here.

According to Kym Johnson, the “Icon” dances next week is someone who has inspired the celebrity. I guess that means someone famous?? Who the hell knows? All I know is that I’m sick to death of these lame themes. They lead to excessive use of the troupe, props, massive sets…and the dreaded smoke monster. Can’t we just have DANCING??
Then there’s the dance off. Rob Wade has about worn out his welcome here. The three dances to choose from are dances that Nick has already done – I’m sure that’s just a coincidence. Heh. No, he didn’t say what they were, just that he had already done them.
Anyway, Alexa and Andy didn’t know as of Monday night what they were dancing. Mark said the music he wanted didn’t clear so they’re under the gun. Or they were. Surely they know by now.
ETA: So, Broadway World explains immunity and the dance off from the DWTS Press release:
For the first time this season, the couple with the highest score from their solo dance will be granted immunity from elimination next week and will also receive 3 additional points.
For the first time ever, each of the six couples that do not receive immunity will then be paired up to compete in a head-to-head dance-off to be voted on by America in real-time on www.ABC.com and the three judges. The couple with the majority of the four potential votes from each dance-off will earn an extra 2 points, increasing their overall score. At the end of the night, one couple will face elimination.
They also list the style of dances that will be performed:
The “Dancing with the Stars” celebrities will pay tribute to influential figures in their lives on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). The dance styles will include Argentine Tango, Foxtrot, Contemporary, Salsa, Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz.
If you check his Blog, Derek says he and Bindi have only performed TWO of the dance off styles, Cha Cha and Jive. Figures.
I posted the songs before this post.....

VIDEO: Marc Anthony Gives Carlos PenaVega Salsa Advice – 'It's in Your Blood, Bro!'
This week on Dancing with the Stars, Carlos PenaVega will salsa dance to Marc Anthony’s “Valió La Pena” – so who better than Anthony himself to give advice about the dance, for the first-time salsa performer?
PenaVega and his partner, Witney Carson, stopped by Anthony’s performance in Phoenix, Arizona, for just those tips, in a PEOPLE exclusive clip.
“Marc has been someone who is extremely important to me,” PenaVega tells PEOPLE. “He inspired me to not only pursue a solo career in music but also to get back in touch with my roots.”
When PenaVega tells Anthony he’s never done the salsa, Anthony quickly replies, “Yeah, but it’s in your blood, bro! It’s in there somewhere.”
