The royals and their hats!!! they have no self consciousness about them at all, I guessLOL!!! we need to ask Jet (she has English friends) if the fascinator hats are a common fashion in England....I think they are
I think they are for special occasions like weddings and formal events. I know my friend always gussies up for her family weddings and she'll ask, "Do I need to get a hat?" In other words, is the wedding being planned.

I wore hats every Sunday until I was 24, and nobody wore hats in DeKalb, Ill. I was so sad, and now I own no hats. I loved to buy hats and was particularly partial to picture hats. I also wore gloves until I was 26 and had six pair to match different outfits.
I was not a hat wearer...except on Easter....but I remember some of the women from our church wearing them
I love to see ladies wearing stylish hats, although my real choice would be a very functional and well-worn visor (that I wouldn't wear to church or a wedding, however).
here's an interesting one.....if you wear it backwards you can say you have eyes in the back of your head...LOL

You are a bridge to the earlier 1900's...and that is a lovely reminder of how things used to be. Now there is kind've no dress code and people don't show respect as they used to.
