Afternoon to every one and thank you so much for thinking about me and my visit to the eye specialist...it was a good visit...he said that the cyst was actually an internal sty and that what I had been doing (drops and hot compresses) were helping...he then asked me how brave I was?????  Well he wanted to take a needle and open it up so that the drops could get inside it and it could drain (sorry for the graphic description) so I said go ahead, it can't be anymore annoying or discomfort than it is now.  He put some numbing drops in my eye and it was over!!!!  I have to continue the drops for another week along with the hot compresses and he said my eyesight should improve.  The eyesight problem is coming from the drainage of the sty.  He said the cataracts were no way ready to be replaced so that made me happy.

As for my accident yesterday...so far I am feeling ok...thank heaven...

Oh wow.....what happened????......what kind of accident did you have????.......and ummm.......putting eye drops in is not fun......and just to make you smile.....did you ever see this episode of friends where Rachel needed eye drops and they had to hold her down to give them to her???....LOL

Yes, I remember!

Re: New Year - New Beginnings

It's a snowy day here, and the second missed robotics meeting of the week. I hope this doesn't continue. Every meeting is precious at this stage of the game. Some good prototyping happened last night, though.

My munchkin & I have the Patriots game on. I'm supposed to be putting away clothes, but I want to just curl up under a blanket.

Hmmmm.  Who do we want to see on next season's DWTS?  Has anyone run across any rumors?

I do know who I'd like to see promoted to Pro from the troupe.  If they need 6 female and 6 male, I think Jenna should join Lindsay, Witney, Peta, Sharna....there will be NO Allison this season (baby!)... so who else?

The guys - I think there are some real questions as to whether Derek, and even Mark will be part of it.  Is Tony game for another season?  Did I hear that he has a contract for 2 more seasons?  Artem probably.  But I have my doubts about Keo.

What do you guys think?

I agree, it would be nice for Jenna to be a pro this year.

This won't happen, but I would love to see Anthony Field (the blue Wiggle) on DWTS. Johnny Weir would be colorful. Hmmm, who else?  How about the Rock? That would be cool. Rob Gronkowski, but I think the Patriots won't let him. I can't think of any females at the moment. I'll have to think about that.

I really do hope Derek and Mark come back.....LOL....hoping Derek doesn't win again is half the fun of the season.....LOL...but I do hope he gets a partner that's a challenge for him....someone maybe like Chaka was.....my daughter and I had a discussion about the new season and we think it would be cool for them to have a set of identical twins on there....like the Mowry sisters.....it would make the pros have to showcase them as individuals to stand out for the fan votes

or the Sprouse twins

This is great idea!  You and our niece should submit it to PureDWTS.  Wouldn't that add interest and a certain competition (between the pros, I mean) that we haven't seen.

I think you have to register with them to comment though.  And maybe pay a small fee for "insider membership"

vmmmom...What is the schedule for the robotics competition?  Is it a process of elimination?   Or 1 big competition.

Re: New Year - New Beginnings

I need to say good night.

I have been kind of waiting for Jetmama's picture from the bank of the drainage ditch or some such dangerous sounding place...

Hope she didn't fall in !!!   Jetmama, please check in.

In the meantime, here is a shot that I took with my tablet - while speeding along at 70 miles an hour.  Things out in the countryside were so frosted and pretty that I wanted to try to get a shot.  But I was sure it would just be a total blur taking it out my passenger window as we sped by.

But there was a setting called "sports" which must be very quick exposure to catch action.   And I was surprised how well it turned out.

Thursday evening hubby and I were taking all three of the grandchildren to Panera for supper and we were driving down the road an a woman ran into the back of us as we were actually driving...she said she was looking at the person in the rear view mirror that had ran into her and didn't pay attention and hit us.  No damage to our car or hers and we were all ok...I felt a tiny bit in my back but it seems to be all good now.  I am not convinced that someone ran into her...she said they drove off so I can't be 100% sure!
