In catching up with the thread, I had you picked as a yellow girl, but that is a lot harder.  I pick the last to be a lie.  It sounds the most unlikely for someone so organised, logic and analytic as you, view.  We did a colour study for painting once in art school.  Only a couple of students within a fairly big group picked yellow for it, me included.  Here is the distribution of people's colour preferences,  35% blue, 16% green, 10% purple, 9% red.

Hey, Gabriele...how's everything in your world? Did you find a school for your son yet? Is school in session now?

My color pick would be red!

WOW!  How very eclectic, Gabriele!!!  LOL   I wonder what the burnt orange toilet means!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer.  It probably means you can find so little in burnt orange that you have to compromise by using it for the smallest room in the house.  *lol*

Hi Jet,still no news on the schooling issue.  Waiting to hear that his Dad actually went to visit some and see for himself and get an advocate to talk with my son's advocate.  He rejects having anything to do with her directly as she works for an organisation with the word 'disability' in it.  I think he still lives in total denial that we have a child with a disability/impairment/handicap/non-neurotypical or whatever the politically correct language of the time is.  :/

Perhaps that is a chromosome on the male genome!  Men seem more often to be in denial about things that they don't understand or don't want to accept than women, I think.  That is a huge generalization but in my experience, women seem to be generally better able to deal with things out of the ordinary...but then we are usually left to do so!!  I can--in all fairness, however--think of at least a half dozen dads we know of several generations that have had to deal with the opposite--where the mom who skipped out and left him with the kids or those who had to deal with children with disabilities or special needs, etc. and have done so with heroic success in terms of advocating for them and getting them services....you know, all the things you do because it is what you have to do and you just accept that.  I hope your son's dad will show some interest and make some effort....but then I guess if he hasn't taken part in 11 years, it may be expecting more than he is capable of.  Some people are just incapable, I've decided!

You are right, Jet.  He is 57 and has no other children besides our 11 year old.  Just too much to take, me thinks, especially if it is not a physical disability, but something 'in the head'.  I don't lose a beat over it these days.  We carry on with, without or against him if needed, unfortunately so.

DIng,Ding, Ding.....We have a winner!

The last statement IS the lie.  Though not a huge stretch from some wonderful employment opportunities that came my way during the years I was a single parent and sole supporter of myself and 2 children.  Good people are so good.

On the other hand, not-so-good people can mess life up tremendously.  To recognize this and realize that in most cases you have the choice to fill your life with the positive and edifying sort....is a life lesson.

So now, gabriele.....3 statements from you.

Re: The Games Sisters Play

I should elaborate on the sleeping in the truck cab incident....but no time this morning.  It's kind of a funny story actually.

I wanted to get up early and respond to the thread if a guess had been made, but I will be gone most of the day.  Hope to check in later this evening.

This Game is Fun.   I hope we have a chance to hear from everyone.

HUGS, sisters.

Ding, Ding......Jet, you are right. I am not related to our Governor.

CEK, I was on TV as a child.  It was a local program that used children from around town.  It was called Romper Room.  I think I was 7 or 8.   I know I was in elementary school. lol   I remember a lot from that experience.  One was that we taped several episodes a day.  We had to bring several changes of clothes to the "set" and our moms would help us change between "shows".  It was kind of a educational/fun show for children.  I was in no way a "child star" as you were only on for a week, before they "rotated" to new children, but it makes a neat story. LOL

Okay Jet, Your turn.

I remember that show Luv...

Luv, you got it on the first try.   But Wellesley contacted me through my high school and offered me a scholarship.   My brother got a full ride to Harvard a year later.  Why were these Ivy league schools so interested in us?   Because we were missionary kids and they wanted a diverse student body.  Not very many missionary kids going to Ivy League schools. But the system would not let me post as a respond/quote.  It kept telling me that my syntax is wrong.

Now it is your turn, Luv.

YAY !!!!

That is so cool KOS....What did your brother major in?  I am sure that you have so many interesting stories of your life as a missionary child.

OKAY.......here are mine.
