BLUEBERRY HILL

Good one, View! I remember my aunt leading the singing of Blueberry Hill as we drove to the beach from the summer home near Lake Michigan when I was less than 10 years old (we moved to NM then)...so I had to google the song as Fats Domino wasn't around until a few years later, as I recall.

"Blueberry Hill" is a popular song published in 1940 best remembered for its 1950s rock n' roll version by Fats Domino. The music was written by Vincent Rose, the lyrics by Larry Stock and Al Lewis. It was recorded six times in 1940. Victor Records released the recording by the Sammy Kaye Orchestra with vocals by Tommy Ryan on May 31, 1940 (catalog #26643, with the flip side "Maybe"; matrix #51050[1]). Gene Krupa's version was issued on OKeh Records (#5672) on June 3 and singer Mary Small did a vocal version on the same label with Nat Brandwynne's orchestra, released June 20, 1940 on OKeh Records #5678. Other 1940 recordings were by: The Glenn Miller Orchestra on Bluebird Records (10768), Kay Kyser, Russ Morgan, Gene Autry (also in the 1941 film The Singing Hill[2]), Connee Boswell, and Jimmy Dorsey. The largest 1940 hit was by The Glenn Miller Orchestra, where it reached #1.[3]

It was also sung by Louis Armstrong in 1949, it said in the next paragraph. Thought it was interesting.

BLUEBERRY PIE---another blast from the past at the Michigan beach house in that era. The neighbors (and lifelong friends of my grandparents as well as my parents) there had a blueberry farm next door and we would go over and pick them. YUM! I remember also picking blackberries and wild raspberries in the woods on the way over. Kind've felt like Little Red Riding Hood!!

HUMBLE PIE

and because I'm not sure if it is part of your version of English,

'
eat humble pie definition. To be forced to acknowledge one's deficiencies or errors: “Professor Norris had to eat humble pie when the reviewers pointed out numerous factual errors in his book.” Humble pie refers to a dish originally made from the innards of a deer.'

.....  entrails.....   and here we are in yucky territory once again...

I will add another favorite of mine:
APRICOT PIE

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Meryl
We fell in love, but our way. Maks

1 cup Desiccated Coconut
Extra Coconut For Rolling

Method:
In a bowl combine all the ingredients. Using a teaspoon full of mixture, roll a tight ball and then roll in the extra coconut. Place on a plate and refrigerate the apricot balls for a couple of hours.

Oooh, these look good.  Same recipe as date balls, but I never though of using apricots which I would like even better.

I am going with

APRICOT SKY (SKIES)

which is a book I read.

Is it also a spa in New Mexico?

http://www.wholeearthsystems.com/products/felted-soaps/

This kind of grosses me out because as much as I love homemade soap (used to make it myself before it became so available - made by better than I) and love the idea of wool, felted as a cover to the soap, creating a lanolin rich "wash cloth"  -  wouldn't the wool get soiled like any washcloth would, etc.  and wouldn't the wet shroud keep the soap wetter and soft between uses....

I'm thinking as I'm typing, ladies...bear with me....
I think I will make a felted wool pouch or pocket for a bar of soap to fit it. But then removed after use.

o.k.

while I'm on the subject of good grooming...this kind of grosses me out, too.

Funny how our perceptions change over time.  I have been exposed (pun intended) to so many male bodies through DWTS that have been waxed, shaven, or naturally are less hirsute,

that even the beautiful Sean Connery in that hairy state  - - is kind of a turn off.

I would say they fell into lust rather than growing into love. As that song, "It was just one of those things" says, "It was too hot not to cool down." I hope they are both okay with not being together.

I agree with you, Annie....I always thought they were a bit of an "odd couple"....just kind've awkward. We'll see if there is a revival down the road somewhere!! LOL

And I will agree with you both Annie and Jet!!

Is that a new tattoo on his underarm?  I can't read what it says though.  April, our tattoo expert, what is your take on it?

Looks like it, Gabriele.

Looks like it may be in Russian...and I think it is a new one...
