Agree with you all. I think Maks just pops off without thinking. He was going to put that baby in a carrier that would strap to Maks' chest, facing him, and "Peta can just do whatever she wants." I'm curious about why he wanted the baby to be born in NY. That meant that Peta had to have a different doctor than the one she had been seeing. I think their return to DWTS is all about $$$$$$$$$$$. Of course, they ARE dancers (and not likely to enter another career field) so that is what they do!  Peta had better pump those breasts just before going onto the dance floor and make sure she is wearing thick breast pads while dancing. I'm surprised she is going to still be nursing while going back for season 24 but have to give her credit for it.  Did anyone notice how the furniture in the NJ house is different from the pieces he had during season 18? Those white Chesterfield sofas reminded me of Meryl's. His original furniture was red or maroon (and dark green)  trimmed in gold and the wood was dark and pretty ornate (as I recall).

That wedding they are planning with hundreds of guests and 3-day celebrations will cost a packet.  Probably not even they have those amounts readily available.   So, yes, it's about $$ for sure.  And who knows what the show's future looks like with Derek's gig.  Are we sure that keeping Shai under wraps was (only...) motivated by concern for him (I am not....).  Or perhaps there was an element of angling for maximum exposure, too.  GMA beats a newspaper article any day, I would think.  In any case,

Having to finish my own thoughts, *lol*.   Wondering, if they could manage to break even or make a profit out of their wedding via product/service endorsements and a media deal.  Hmmmm...  You'd have to be an A- or B-lister, to be in such demand, perhaps.

Yes....have to hope they have a "Jeanie" in their back pocket.  Isn't hte wedding planned for NYC??  Talk aobut $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. I agree, Annie....I suspect it is all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.....and, why not? Guess neither of them have anything else going.... .....to pay teh bills anyway. I figure the 2 of them...if they stay a minimum amount of time....can gross about $300k for the season. If they get to the later weeks, it's more, of course. May need that to fund the wedding!!

Didn't Maks rent the house out for a couple years while he was acting in LA? I imagine they had the place painted either after they arrived there in November or before they got there. They had that consulatant do the nursery so maybe she helped with the overall redo??

I wonder if Maks takes a salary from the dance studios and how they split the ownership with Maks, Val, Tony and Papa C and wasn't Nicole's mom also a partner in them???

I would suspect that all the principals, at least those who are actively engaged, receive a salary of some sort.

But........ she has a nanny now!

I know she does...She is in for a huge surprise at how tired you can be as a parent...and with a nanny she should be in pretty good shape I would think!!!  There were times I wished I had a nanny and a maid too...LOL

That is the truth! . And just when you think the baby has a routine, things change!!!  LOL Doubt Shai is sleeping through the nite...but he might be.  My son started sleeping thru the nite (11 PM- 5 AM) at 5 weeks.  My daughter, otoh, woke up at least 3 times a nite till she was a year old!!!!!  LOL

Davis and White - Thank you!

On February 22, 2017 Meryl Davis and Charlie White finally put rumors to bed about returning to competition. They were interviewed on the Today show and said that they decided not to compete in the 2018 Olympics.

As I stated in previous posts, that has been my gut feeling for quite some time and I am thrilled that they made a wise decision.

In the last few weeks some fans were pushing for a comeback. I am not sure what the motivation was that drove this frantic push (Virtue/Moir success is my theory) but now all this speculation can be put to rest.

I have always held Davis and White in high regard and would have been disappointed if they had decided to return at such a late date.

They are concentrating on other aspects of their lives and have moved on from competitive skating. If they had decided to comeback, it would have been an uphill battle that I sincerely doubt they could have overcome. They made a wise choice….not that they were seriously considering a comeback anyway. I think all the hoopla was in the mind of overzealous fans.

Now figure skating fans can concentrate on the teams that are competing and putting it out on the line. These teams deserve respect and everyone’s full attention. Looking forward to the fans comparisons of competing teams instead of a deluge of “what ifs.”

Well, we guessed it right!  Hanging up their competitive skates!!

My dear mother had 3 or 4 verses of scripture that she especially loved.  And this among them was her favorite.

Later, when I go to sleep I will think on these things.

Also, I great favorite of my mom's who frequently quoted it during difficult times.   During the spring of my junior year in college, my husband to be asked that we memorize two books of the Bible.  I chose the book of Philippians and he chose the book of James.   And we actually did memorize both books.

That is impressive, KOS!!!  Good for you both!  We had to memorize Scripture verses or passages in Scripture class in HS, but never a whole book!!

The following picture was posted by View on Sunday.  Thank you.  It brought back lots of memories for me.  In the home in which I grew up, we had daily devotions.  It didn't matter where we were.  And this included Communist China under which we lived for three years.  We were already in China before Mao made his march from the north as many professionals fled from China including Chiang Kai Shek and other politicians.  My dad prayed this every day with his family and with all the Chinese who worked on the farm.  And when the local government decided to take over the farm and use it for military training and decided to assign  military personnel to "watch" my dad and my mom, even during family devotions, my dad still prayed this prayer.

WOW!  That is quite a story, KOS!  Thanks for sharing it.  You were fortunate that was in the infant stages of the Communists coming to power.  What year did you leave China?

I looked hi up on wikipedia and his resume is very impressive. I've not heard of him nor seen him in any films or shows that I"m aware of....but I agree he is nice looking and would seem to be well grounded. I will check out the youtube videos when I have a couple minutes to enjoy them.

I may have to do that too!!!

If you like romantic comedies, start with "Catch and Release."  Jennifer Garner is his costar.  But this is true confession time.  You know those silly lists of best romantic scenes or best kisses, etc.  Well I usually do not bother, in part because it is a commitment of time up to 16 min. sometimes.  But one day as I was watching a news video I saw a "best kiss" option in the right hand column (only one kiss) with over 10,000,000 views, and I did watch it because it was only going to take 2 minutes of my time.  And the rest, as they say, is history.  The video of "Catch and Release" (the movie is almost 2 hrs long which means that the videos that are about 90 min. long are not the complete movie) that is on You Tube is fuzzy but it does give you the story.   I have now also watched "Mother's Day" in which he plays Jennifer Anniston's ex husband and the thriller, "A Perfect Getaway."  I have yet to watch the movies in which he plays the "bad" guy, and I have not watched "Deadwood" or "Justified."  The premise of his and Drew Barrymore's show (Santa Clarita Diet) on Netlix is hilarious and his character fits right in with his real life view of marriage and the fact that no matter the pressure on a marriage it is his reponsiblity to commit, to be there for his wife and to make it work.

Will have to watch some of these movies.  Thanks for the tip!

Would Olympic Gold Medalist Mary Lou Retton Do Dancing With The Stars?

AOL.com has a fun interview with Olympic Glod Medalist Mary Lou Retton. They ask her on Nature’s Bounty for the #DearFutureMe campaign that she’s heading up. They also ask if she’d ever do Dancing With The Stars. More below….

Speaking of Laurie [Hernandez], would you ever consider competing on “Dancing with the Stars”?

I’d love to! Are you kidding me? Represent the old group! I’m a big fan of the show. I’ve actually been asked, [but] with my schedule, I just couldn’t do it. If the timing is right, I would love to do it. Especially if there’s a gymnast on, of course we all support our family of gymnasts.

Do you have a pro that you would want to dance with?

I’m assuming they’re going to put me with one of the smaller ones, one of the shorter ones. I’m not picky!

Hmmm, maybe they will ask her to do Dancing With The Stars again? You never know. More at AOL.com.

Would love to see her dance on DWTS!!  She was my favorite gymnast when she competed....first American woman gymnast to score a perfect 10 in the Olympics, if I recall.
