Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!

Re: SEASON 24 is knocking at our door...

Well I think that is all for today...Again sorry for the lateness of posting..I will be late again tomorrow because I am going to watch Kenzie at her kids cooking class...she has been taking the classes for about 2 months every Saturday and LOVES them.  She is good at it too, she takes after her daddy he was standing by me in the kitchen from the time he was about 4 years old...and is a great cook too.

So, I wish you all a great rest of your day, a restful sleep and the happiest of dreams...
Till I see you tomorrow....HUGS

'Morning, Luv.  I am going to pm you my number between 1 and 25.

CEK....I, too, have had ants in the kitchen this year.  Not a lot, for a while I may have seen 3 or 4 per day and killed them.

I looked on line for perhaps a home remedy type thing...I also called an exterminator to get some information.  There is a man on youtube who is know for his "make your own" insecticides and fertilizers etc.  But even he stated "there is no home made solution that works for ants...I've tried the borax"  And so his recommendation was the 3rd  - for Terro Ant Killer for Inside Use.

Worked like a charm over a period of about 5 days.  "Timed" so that they take it back to the community of ants.    Good Luck.

We get them regularly too.  My eldest used to like it somewhat, as they are what he researches.  He wears bracelets and pendants with ants encased in resin.  Not sure it does the trick with the girls.  *lol*
This year, we've had a mouse plague.  It has been so wet over summer that they have been breeding up like I've never seen before.  Usually we catch perhaps up to half a dozen max.  We are reaching 40+ and still going at an average one/day.  Lately, there are always people in the pest control section looking at mouse traps of which half the normally available models are sold out.  I used to let them go, if we caught them alive and they weren't badly damaged.  Not this year......   Hate doing it, but it is too bad.....

We don't get mice anymore since we have three cats in the house. We have been getting silverfish and have had the Palmetto bugs...but for some reason the past two years we have been getting black snakes in the back yard...just had one last seek about 4 feet long climbing up the back porch post to the roof....I am not afraid of most but just like to know they are there and don't sneak up on me.  Last year I was watering the hanging baskets on the back porch and thought it was a stick, reach in to get it out of the basket and it wasn't....it was a small back snake...This year we have a mama robin on the porch sitting on two eggs...That I can handle.

Are your black snakes venomous, CEK?  We had/have Berber wool carpet in placed.  There is one type of insect that 'feeds' of it at the doorsteps.  I'm in the process of getting rid of the carpets now to have smooth flooring.  My eldest (the entomologist) always jokes that there is plenty to research in our house.  *lol*  We are live in the only house within hundreds of metres.  Especially at night, the amount of insects attracted by the light of the windows is amazing.  We used to have a cat.  Towards the end, when she wouldn't hunt otherwise any longer.  She just sat at the window in the dark to pick of big fat moths.

Re: SEASON 24 is knocking at our door...

Thanks for reposting these, CEK.  I've missed them the first time round.   Like just about everyone else, I've had computer problems this week.  They aren't fixed yet.  For the first time in 1 1/2 years, I've cranked up my old notebook with a cracked screen and Windows 7.  The good old faithful....  it runs, or shall I say crawls along.  Just enough time to crochet a row on my new project, a cotton blanket while a page loads.  but thankful for this link to the outside world.  Hopefully, I will be able to use it to download a recovery version of Windows to get my laptop going again.  But isn't it strange that we all have problems.....  I'm getting a message, 'unresponsive due to long-running script' and that happens when trying to manoeuvre between pages of the board.

Good morning, sisters.  I thought I saw you on, Luv.  Sorry I missed you.
This is a busy graduation weekend here and for my family.  I will be doing some cooking for the festivities, so may be M I A.

Oh, did any of you see the advertisement in People magazine of Emma representing the new DWTS tanning spray?  If I have time later, I will try to post it.  It was obviously created before her MB win, but she's all the more valuable as a rep now.

Was briefly on this morning.  Still, having some computer issues. LOL  Missed the mail this morning, so I will have to send out your (as well as CEKs) prize next week.  Sounds like you are going to have a very busy weekend.  Congratulations to the Graduate.  A wonderful accomplishment no matter if it is high school or Collage.  Have fun with your family.

Re: SEASON 24 is knocking at our door...

Hello, Everyone!  Seems a coon's age since I've been able to post on the board.  Just catching up with RL and now today waiting for a maintenance person from good ol' Frontier to call and say when they are coming out.  Joy!  Probably going to be an all day waiting game....but, I guess, we do what we have to!!  It's probably the DVR, which means they will change it out and we'll lose all the recordings.....but, oh well...

Beautiful day here in SoCal so hope to spend some time outside (have to hang around the land line so can't get too far away).

Haven't had much time to catch up, but I'm sure there isn't much going on since the DWTS season ended.

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Hey--I have to congratulate Annie on her point count.  She didn't even submit a guess every week and she got one more than I did!!!  LOL. Maybe I should try that too??!!!  LOL

Hope that helps.
