It's 11PM on the East Coast and I can't believe I am still awake!! LOL.
We got here yesterday with only an hour delay...no protestors, no issues....only a computer problem on the airplane!!!! We were on the taxiway with about 5 airplanes lined up behind us to take off when we were informed there was a computer problem in the cockpit and had to return to the gate!! Better there than in the air, so overall we were 1 hour late departing and arriving in DC. In the scheme of life, a minor inconvenience. Son spent 2 hours trying to work out his rental car issue!!! LOL. The car they reserved couldn't accommodate 6 passengers and all the hockey gear, so we ended up getting our car with no problem, then went to their car rental company as they were just finalizing things!! So all's well that ends well.
Today we walked about 4 miles in DC.....from the Metro station to the White House at the Washington Monument end of the Mall to the Capitol building. We toured the Capitol (we had a reservation that we were about 15 minutes late for, but they took us anyway), then walked to Union Station, had a late lunch at Johnny Rockets in the station and caught the metro back to the hotel (Silver Spring). Got back about 4:45PM.
The girls had a game tonite at 7:45PM....and.....HOORAY, HOORAY!!!...they ALL showed up to PLAY!!!!! It may have been the best game we have seen them play....score was 4-0 despite all the activity today!! The competition was a local team, I understand.
It was about 9:30 before we sat down to have someting to eat before coming back to the hotel. Two games tomorrow--at noon and 5PM. The rink is in Laurel, which is very close by and easy to get to.
We are having a nice visit with my brother and SIL from the CEK's area. They are with us till Monday. My brother is like a magnet for the children! Grandson (especially) LOVES him....my brother is just a big kid!!! LOL
The weather was cool but lovely this morning. In fact, I didn't even take a jacket with me for our stroll thru DC!!! I wore a sweatshirt and by the time we had hoofed It all the way down the Mall to the Capitol entrance, I had worked up a mild sweat but was very comfortable. When we got off the metro, it was 51 degrees outside but had clouded over and the wind chill was quite cool....the only time I felt like I would have liked to have my jacket!! LOL
So this is all the news I have for this edition! Will try to check in tomorrow nite and let you know how the other two games went.
Sweet dreams!

Interesting Mark sold the bigger house and bought a smaller, older one. Laurel Canyon is a woodsy area which can get wildfires.

Two of my lady friends and I are going to see her in "A Two Woman Show" at a local theater in May. Can't wait! Side splitting laughs!!

Gorgeous Gleb! But what is with the facial hair? They would look so much better without it. My son wears it too.
