Hi April! Great to hear that you and Niecey are still in your home away from home after the many weeks in the hospital. Is spring in the air where you are? We've been feeling autumn in the air over the last week or so. Technically still a couple of days of summer left, bot I won't miss it. It has been a good summer, there were few high fire risk days as opposed to the last couple of summers when we seemed to go from one catastrophic heat wave to the next. We did get torrential rain that damaged our driveway in a way I haven't seen the previous two decades that we've been living here. But we deal with that. It's nothing compared to the possibility of loosing your home in a fire. We are in a spot that would certainly not be defended by the fire brigades. They would just let it burn down and that is understandable as it would be too dangerous for the crews.
I have been to Sydney many years ago, but not to an event in the Sydney Opera house. Sydney is over 700 miles away from where we are (Adelaide Hills). I'm not very drawn to cities or the 'Big Smoke' any longer. It's probably also because it is too hot too often and that feels oppressive in a concrete jungle.
Here is the rainbow of my liking for you, sisterHey
Love the rainbow
its definitely spring here....LOL....well on its way to summer most days....glad you had a fairly mild summer
how is Little Man doing??????
He is only doing one hour of school/day (the norm is six), but I'll take it and make up for it at home, if it goes smoothly. Have you been back to your own home at all during the last few months?
Awww....I'm glad your able to make up for it at home.....does he get a break....like our kids here get summer break????......and yeah we have been able to be home some.....we are bouncing between our house and my cousins when she's not in the hospital......just depends on how late she gets done at night and how early she has to be there the next day....and how she's feeling.....she's still on 24 hr IV fluids at home too so I had to learn to work the pump......she carries it in a backpack

cool....is there a patriotic meaning for it being on the flag?????
The design is over 100 years old. I'd have to google it myself, April as I'm not usually too keen on all things patriotic. *lol* The original design had in mind that Dante's virtues would be represented somewhere in there, justice, prudence, temperance and fortitude. I don't know who would be aware of that these days.

Oh man, April!!! You could almost be a nurse already. Would you consider that as a general career? We have our big annual school holidays between around mid December and end of January/beginning of February. So, we've just gone back.

Yes, sorry about that April. I'm sure they drill kids at school about it. But I've done my schooling at the other side of the world. So, no basics here. Oooops.

It is. School used to break up just a couple of days before Christmas. Then the government worked out that they save millions in electricity for an extra week off, so it is more likely mid December now. There is more electricity needed for cooling in summer than for heating in winter. Otherwise, I guess we would get another week in June/July as a saving measure by the government.
