Hi, everyone. Gabriele, if you're still out there, Happy Birthday! I'm tutoring right now but popping in when I have a lull. D2 had her first official robotics competition with her new team. They did a good job.
I am behind in my guesses! When does the season start? Is it next week?
I hope everyone is well. Sending hugs to April and Niecey.

We're not a bit of Irish, but then "everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day" right? (granddaughter has a 1/4 of Scotch/Irish in her now that I think about it)
Do any of you cook or bake special for the day? I'd love some recipes or ideas.

Hey, View....we have some Irish in our family too. Both my paternal grandmother and hubby's maternal grandmother were partly Irish (I would say hubby's g-ma may have been as much as 1/2; her maiden name was Rafferty). I think maybe 1/4 for my grandmother, who had flaming red hair (natural!) and blue eyes. I had to laugh when I got older because she always claimed that I looked just like her...with dark brown eyes and hair!!! LOL. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder!! I was the oldest granddaughter but my sister, who was blonde and green eyed would have been a more likely match!! LOL

Well....my laryngitis is improving, as is the "deaf ear" (still not completely cleared, tho), but now hubby has a sore throat and is hacking off and on. Great timing, of course....right before a long plane flight!

I try to do corned beef and cabbage because it is always on sale and we love it....and like to have enough corned beef left over to make hash with the remainder. St Patrick's day is between hubby (3/28) and son's (3/10) birthdays so sometimes I do...of all things!...German chocolate cake (scratch)...if we are celebrating their birthdays (Germ. Choc. Cake is the family favorite). We don't always get together for their birthdays but sometimes it is convenient to do so in conjunction with another activity or for a special birthday either here or in San Diego. This year we will all be in Maryland on the 17th. I do have a cousin who was born on St. Patrick's day---and my younger younger brother (now deceased) was born on March 18.
