Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

hey guys....sorry about the late update today....it has been busy here.....Niecey held her own today.....she is still on the vent ..... they did the broncoscope today........the doc said that when she went in from the top the right lung looked ok so she didn't even go in because she didn't want to risk spreading the fungal infection to it.....the left lung when she went in she had to clear a lot of gunk to be able to get a good look at....there was good news and not so good news....the not so good was they did see the infection in the tissue of her lung which makes it harder too get rid of .....but the good news is it seems to be localized right now to the upper part of her left lung so they are going to do a Cat scan tomorrow to see how far it goes and are going to see if it responds to the anti-fungals if that doesn't work we may be looking at trying to surgically remove it before it spreads......she is breathing a bit easier tonight but the doc said it is going to be a very long road for her.....so all in all a so-so report but some nice little rainbows shined through.......gotta run for now ......talk to you all tomorrow......squeezing tightly to your hands, praying and trusting God ((((group hugs))))

April, it is good to hear from you as I know myself and all the sisters patiently and not so patiently for your reports...It is good to here that even with the not so good news that there is good new too...I and I speak for all the sisters are here and squeezing your hands so tight they are numb...Hopefully the infection will respond to medication so no further treatment will be needed....Please let her know that her "aunties" are all here sending hugs and prayer to her...Always remember there is a rainbow peeking out from someplace...HUGS to you

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

Anyone trying to quit smoking?
Quit or cut back on alcohol?
Cut way back on salt, sugar, fat?
Lose weight?
Exercise more?

We can be a support group for the summer.
I am trying to spend 15 minutes (minimum) in Quiet Contemplation/SolitaryMeditation/Prayer every day.

But I'm not really advertising this in Real Life - -  want to be accountable only to myself - and you sisters

Started today, and it is uplifting and soul refreshing.

Let kindness attend every gift and good deed, and love warm every Christmas greeting.

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

Well, sisters, it's been quite an interesting 36 hours!!!  LOL. Daughter, SIL, and the granddaughters arrived here Friday morning about 1:30AM.  We had the kids yesterday and last nite while daughter and SIL went to a family wedding, then stayed overnite at SIL's mom's house, which is about 20 minutes from us (to enjoy the peace and quiet!).  Kept the kids busy yesterday playing outside here for a while in the a.m., then we hooked up at Chuck E. Cheese with my sister-in-law and her granddaughters who are similar in age to these 3.  Kids had a blast, although, I hadn't been there in decades!  The food is still just as bad as I remembered it...as well as the noise level (maybe worse!)...and they've now gone to game pass cards.  They all got X amount of points and when they'd finished, they were done.  At least it was a time for the cousins to spend together....and it was air conditioned!!!  LOL.

Today the kids and I went to a local park (we call it "the airplane park") around 10 a.m.  At 11, they opened the gate to the wading pool, so, of course, they all wanted to get wet!!  We had to go home and get suits on, towels, some snacks, etc.--and connect with daughter to have them bring lunch to the park for all of usI  It ultimately worked, although we didn't have lunch till around 1:30.  But I was totally SHOCKED that we managed to spend almost the entire afternoon there (pool closed at 4 and we left about 3:15 PM when Li'l 'Un melted down!!).  What surprised me the most was that the older girls (10+ and 8+) had as much fun as the toddlers who were there!!!  LOL. The oldest one is actually quite a pied piper.  She had the little kids doing the Hokie Pokie, playing a version of Duck-Duck-Goose, and just generally entertaining the crowd of wee ones!!!  It was very cute!

Meanwhile, our Li'l 'Un, who will (very proudly!) be 4 next month, for the first time, started putting her face, then her whole head under the water....and after about 30 minutes of Mom taking "bideos", we saw that she was floating and actually moving her arms in the water!!  So she is close to being ready to swim with a few more water sessions and, hopefully, some lessons.

They've all packed up and left for MIL's house (it's a revolving door motel here!) as one of SIL's long-time buddies and his family are getting together with them tomorrow afternoon at the community pool at the MIL's.  We are invited....and will make a decision tomorrow about going over for a while.  Probably should, but I also need to start focusing on getting ready to leave on Wednesday!!

Weather was perfect today....scattered clouds, some overcast off and on, but enough sun to stay warm if need be.  That park has a nice covered ramada with picnic tables for parties, groups, etc. so we found some shade there for our lunch of hot dogs!!  LOL

Hope you all had a lovely Saturday!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Maks Chmerkovskiy & Peta Murgatroyd’s Son Shai Will Be Ring Bearer For Their Lavish July Wedding, Source Says

Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are getting ready for their big summer wedding.

A source tells ET the happy couple will be getting married next month and have recruited their son, 5-month-old Shai, to be their ring bearer.

“Maks and Peta’s wedding will be something to remember! It will be a huge wedding that will span the course of a three day weekend,” the source revealed.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, July 8, at Oheka Castle, one of Long Island’s most exclusive venues. Guests will be treated to a Shabbat dinner the night before and a Sunday brunch the day after the wedding.

The source also explained that Peta is a bit nervous that Shai might cry through most of the ceremony, but is excited that he’ll be part of the festivities on such a special day.

Maks'cousin and former Dancing with the Stars troupe dancer, Nicole Volynets, is helping plan and style the wedding. According to the source, Peta will have two wedding dresses.

A second source tells ET that a few of the couple’s DWTS friends will be attending the wedding, including Sharna Burgess and Tony Dovolani, who are both in the bridal party. Keo Motsepe, Amber Rose, Nyle DiMarco, Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi are also expected to attend.

Val Chmerkovskiy will definitely be in attendance to lend his support to his big brother. But, it’s unclear on whether or not the DWTS pro will be showing up solo or with a date. The 31-year-old dancer appears to have rekindled his romantic relationship with former girlfriend, Jenna Johnson. According to the source, Johnson will be filming So You Think You Can Dance in July, so it’s not yet known if she’ll be attending the festivities.

This looks like an older photo of M&P.  His crazy facial hair and that brown sweater....ugh!!  And, of course, her Monroe blonde "do"!  Could have done better, I think.

I tried to post last nite but tinypic didn't work and it got late with the kids.

So very pleased that there was some good news to report, April.....she is a fighter and she will hang in there.  Holding your hands tightly and praying that the doctors will do the best they can to clear this up and get her moving forward.

You, Niecey, and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

Hoping for good news from tomorrow's Cat Scan ...  Little rainbow.

I'll say good night to you all.  I want to go out and mess in the flower garden on this cool and quiet evening.  I seem to have slugs eating the dahlia leaves.  At least that is my best guess, so I am heading out to sprinkle some stuff on the ground around them.

They say that copper wire will give them a little electrical jolt ! and keep them away, but I don't have any 1.
and 2.  don't want to be wrapping a dozen plants with wire.  3.  Don't want to deter them, I want to get rid of them.

There's the beer thing I guess.  Never tried that.

Have a good rest of the evening, ladies.  I'll check in tomorrow.
