Lord, it is eventide: the light of day is waning;
Far o'er the golden land earth's voices faint and fall;
Lowly we pray to You for strength and love sustaining,
Lowly we ask of You Your peace upon us all.
O grant unto our souls -Refrain:
Light that grows not pale with day's decrease,
Love that never can fail till life shall cease;
Joy no trial can mar, Hope that shines afar,
Faith serene as a star, and Christ's own peace.2 Lord, it is eventide: we turn to You for healing,
Like those of Galilee who came at close of day;
Speak to our waiting souls, their hidden needs revealing;
Touch us with hands divine that take our sin away.
O grant unto our souls - [Refrain]3 Saviour, You know of every trial and temptation,
Know of the wilfulness and waywardness of youth,
Help us to hold to You, our strength and our salvation,
Help us to find in You the one eternal Truth.
O grant unto our souls - [Refrain]4 Lord, it is eventide: our hearts await Your giving,
Wait for that peace divine that none can take away,
Peace that shall lift our souls to loftier heights of living,
Till we abide with You in everlasting day.
O grant unto our souls - [Refrain]

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!

Re: In Memorium: A Celebration of Niecey

Well sisters this day is coming to an end and we have had a wonderful day of celebration for our Niecey's life and loves.  I hope April will find comfort in our love for Niecey and the way we chose to to show it.

I am going to start getting ready to say goodnight to you all...It has been a busy day here and a humid one which makes it even more draining.

I will be back on the regular thread tomorrow, but I am sure it you want to come over here and post when you feel like you want to then I am sure it will be alright...

I hope you all rest well tonight and have happy dreams.
HUGS to you all till tomorrow.

Beautiful words.  Thank you for sharing this with us.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the word. I thought that I had deleted this because I could find no recording of this song.  Really not surprising because it is from a British hymnal from when we lived in China and we sang this at the end of the day just as we began the day with "When Morning Gilds the Skies."  I have always loved the words and often sang it at night to my children.

It has been a fortnight since the sisterhood shared the saddest day.  Rest in piece sweet angel.  I wanted to stop by with a rose and a tight hug for our April.  xox

Re: In Memorium: A Celebration of Niecey

Good afternoon, sisters.   As you know, I have just returned from our 2-1/2 week vacation and was not able to post on this thread while we were away.  However, this afternoon was the "official" celebration of Niecey's life for those in their local area who were not able to attend the funeral.  I thought it appropriate to post something in memorium to our favorite, fearless, fabulous Niece who fought the good fight....a special young lady with much determination and wisdom.  May she Rest In Peace.

And to April, her mom, who walked the journey selflessly, with grace and strength, never giving up or losing faith.  May you find peace in knowing your daughter is with the Lord, no longer suffering, and no doubt keeping the heavenly host laughing and entertained!  May God bless and sustain you In the coming days, months, and years. ❤️❤️❤️

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Niecey was a great friend...which is why she had great friends.

We know Annie would have been a part of the celebration is she could.

Yes I would have. It is Dec. 17 and I'm just now discovering this.
