Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!

Thanks Jet.  I didn't hear the "shy" part when watching.  It is amazing how much a person misses seeing or hearing.  It is no wonder why witnesses often have different versions. LOL

If you all hadn't mentioned it in the chat, I wouldn't have been looking for any "hidden" meaning, if you will!! I gathered from the context and how Tom said it that Alan must be a pretty outgoing guy with a lively personality. Tom was clearling joking with him.

I was disappointed that Tonya survived the elimination. I thot she was quite a pathetic character....unfortunately kind've confirming all the baggage from the past! . Was also surprised that Kareem was very stiff and didn't really seem to move well. I expected him to show more athleticism! That being said, I realize his BB career likely took a toll on his body...and dunno how long ago he had cancer (so glad he is still with us, tho). All that being said, I was reminded that sometimes the exceptionally tall BB players (who always play center!) are not the best players in part because of their "giraffe" status!! They just have to stand under the basket and wait for someone like Magic Johnson to pass the ball to them!!! LOL. I do remember, now that I recall watching the Lakers in those days, that was pretty much how Kareem managed to score all those points!! LOL. It was not on agility or ball handling!!! Thinking that he may take an early and gracious bow. Hope he is enjoying his time, tho.

I am glad you wrote this Jet.  I was feeling like I was a bit harsh on Tonya with my comments last night. LOL  I thought she did well in her dance, but she just does not come off well when she talks.

Gabriele, hope you have internet service and have seen the dances.  I would be very interested on your take with Tonya.  I didn't follow skating back then until the "why cry" was heard around the world. LOL  Anyway, did you follow skating back then?  What are your thoughts?

We have our internet back, Luv.  I thought it was a case of the boys with their excavators, this time upgrading the sewers, last time laying a winter creek into concrete pipes.  Seems though that we need new cabling underground from the next around 250 metres.  On our property the cabling cuts through bush land up a steep hill with little/no access for machinery.  It was put down in the mid 80s when there were no trees/bushes in the area.  Not sure how they will resolve it.  Perhaps with a new trench following along our driveway.

I remember the Nancy and Tonya story from back when it happened.   The general sentiment over in the skating fora is that Tonya can't remain in the sin bin forever, though some people want to see her there.  Some guy by the name of Vick or so has been mentioned.  He had illegal dog fighting going and redeemed himself since to have another career as a public persona.  Most believe she is entitled to a second chance after all these years.  She doesn't help her case much with her own conduct/attitude though, I believe.  Personally, I feel kind of neutral towards it.  I don't mind that she gets opportunities by being on the show, but wondering if her personality will get in the way of  seizing on them.

🤞for a positive report tomorrow, CEK.  Since the furbaby is eating well and acting normally, I'd say that is a very good sign!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Hi, Gabriele....glad that your internet is hopefully "recovering"!!!  LOL. Maybe we will *see* you next Monday!

Like you, Luv, I thot Tonya's dance was respectable.  I am all for redemption....everyone should have the opportunity...or, shall we say, try to create or capitalize on the opportunity.  Not everyone recognizes the possibility or resolves to make the changes which are necessary to achieve it.  Gabriele, I think you may be right that Tonya's personality and general victim mentality--my words not yours--are likely a problem for her.  Sometimes it requires the person to make a very conscious  change in order to make the turn onto the path of redemption.  Not everyone is capable as continuing down the victim road may be easier....or just too familiar..
