Hey Jet......Is this group part of what use to be the"Crystal Cathedral church" or did they just make an appearance for the Hour of Power TV show? I know that the church Dr. Schuller founded is no longer "around"....I think a Catholic church bought the land? Anyway, I found it interesting that they have a performance from the Voices of Hope from the Hour of Power posted on their web-site. I think the group of Children they have now is wonderful...hehehe....
Hey, Luv....I just googled Bobby Schuller, which seems to clarify Hour of Power and the Schuller's relationship with Irvine Presbyterian Church. I think the Hour of Power is the TV ministry of Schuller and his congregation, which, it seems, meets at IPC; they are known as Shepherd's Grove Church. Out here often more than one church or denomination shares a church facility for financial purposes. My understanding is that the Voices of Hope is a separate entity which is somehow linked with either IPC or Schuller's organization. It is, as I understand it, totally funded by a philanthropist so may perform as part of the Hour of Power, but that's all.

LOL...can't take credit for any "Sleuthing" LOL... All I did was put in their name and their web-site popped up and it had a video of them on the Hour of Power show. LOL I used to watch that, so know a bit of what went down with the Church.
How cool to have "found" the choir through a performance of "Joseph". (I bet your niece was a hit...hehe) Anyway, it sounds like a great organization to be associated with and I am glad that both of your nieces can be apart of it....and on such a big stage....LOLGood morning! Up early (but not any earlier than normal!!) to finish the annual quilt run today. We are headed to the desert stores....4 of us today.at 7a.m.
Yesterday afternoon my SIL and I went to LAX to pick up their brother and SIL from TN. They are here for a niece's wedding tomorrow. So after supper we watched the Golden Buzzer performance of Voices of Hope....and got the skinny on the choir!
You were pretty close, Luv! The remnants of the Crystal Cathedral's congregation is still under the pastorship of Robert Schuller's son (not sure his first name) and is the Irvine Presbyterian Church so they perform during the Hour of Power now and then. The children's choir is funded by a philanthropist. As a result of the Golden Buzzer performance, they have already had several offers to perform! The kids and families all gathered at the church Tuesday nite for a potluck dinner and to watch the show. We are now in possession of a baggie full of gold confetti!! The nieces collected a rather large bag of it when they taped the show a few months ago!!! LOL
Hope everyone will vote for Voices of Hope when they perform live on August 22!!!!!!!Good MORNING Jet. My, you are up early. LOL A full day of exploring Quilt shops and being with friends would make a person want to get the day started. LOL !!!
That is wonderful that Robert (his son's name too) still has a church and following. I was very surprised to hear that the Hour of Power, still was in production. VERY INTERESTING. So, is the Voices of Choir part of the Irvine Presbyterian Church? Yet, it sounds like it stands on its own too, letting anyone audition, *even if they don't attend that Church". I can see why she said that the money *if they win" would go back into the program.
I am happy to hear that because of the exposer, the Voices of Hope are getting "bookings". I have read a few of the comments from their You-tube video. Yes, some were nasty, but that is always the case, isn't it? People just can't be nice. LOL Most were like, "they shouldn't have got the Golden Buzzer", which I think steams from this year, so far, most of the acts going to the live show are "singing" acts, and "they" want variety. Also, because (I think) they are children and the act that wins..."should be an act you can see in Las Vegas". Anyway, there were also a lot of GOOD comments. One lady on there was defending the group. She also has a niece in it. A little girl with only one arm.
Oh....How COOL....the Golden confetti !!!! That is neat !!!! and a good keep sake. If I were them, I would have saved it too. LOL !!! The pieces look pretty big on TV, so I am guessing, that they are kind of pretty large. Humm.....too bad it isn't "material", you could have made a quilt out of it. LOL !!!!!
Have a great day at the quilt shops.

We hit 6 shops today....only 3 of them were on the actual quilt run! Gunner was in SD today doing that part of the run and we were out in her area!!
Those gold metallic pieces are actually very small! They are about 1-1/2" x 2-1/2"!!!!!!!! I think loads of them are dropped and the cameras and lighting create the effect!!! LOL

I found this very interesting. I know that things in CA are very high, but I never would have thought that several Churches would use the same facility/grounds. Very interesting. I wonder how services work out.

LOL.....when I first read this, I thought she was in South Dakota. LOL !!!! It dawned on me that you probably meant San Diego. Hope you all picked up a few neat things to use.
Re: Confetti......I am so glad that the children were able to take "bags" of it home to give to family and friends. It will always be a neat reminder.

Just checked and the numbers are now 1,201,879 views 21 thumbs up...so the number of views are still climbing; however, I have no idea how this will translate to voting on the live shows, but still, I have to say this is good for them if not for the show, at least moving forward to show casting themselves in other venues.
KOS.......where are you????? Please pop in and say "HI"
