Thanks Booky for posting this video.  I didn't make it through the whole thing (skipped a bit here and there), but it was enough for me to understand why it came down the way it did.  Like them, I wasn't too happy, but could understand why the results were the way they were.  Thinking back to Meryl and Charlie's dances, they were filled with speed, ice coverage and outstanding lifts and such.  Comparing C/B and M/C, I can see why M/C was considered "gold" and why C/B was considered "silver" in their respective Olympics.  Come to think about it, there was a bit of "controversy" and upset that M/C won over V/M. LOL!!!!  I think these guys are right, there needs to be some rule changes in Ice Dancing.

Re: Winter Olympics 2026

Did not get to watch the skating live, so when I looked up the results, all I can say is WOW!!!!!

Re: Winter Olympics 2026

Brutal day today. I watched Maxim and Ilia on my phone. I don't know if I can bring myself to watch the coverage tonight.

Re: Winter Olympics 2026

Did Maxim have a good clean skate?

I have been reading all about Ilia. I heard that he was a good sportsman to the winner, but then later at a press conference was over heard that he was mad at the federation for not sending him to the previous Olympics and kind of blaming them for his performance. (not a good look in my opinion) but the pressure had to be overwhelming.

I am not sure I will watch tonight, other then Maxim.  I sure hope he did well.  I know that Ilia will be back next time the Olympics comes around....Still.....what a way to have these Olympics turn out.

I believe Max ended up in 14th place. It wasn't the skate he wanted, but I'm certain he is just grateful to have had this Olympics experience. His parents would be so proud.
