Hi, Gabriele...great you could join us!

In what way do you think your boys would see you differently? Just curious....

They live and not just hear about  the idea of a woman being a leader, the head of a household, not just equal.  Amongst other things...  they also live the idea that a woman can do anything, fix blocked plumbing, use a chainsaw, do an oilchange ect.  Not in every case, for sure, but certainly in our household.

that makes sense

O.K., now I'm looking for something else that I skipped past. It seems to be a pic of Meryl lying down with Charlie standing over her -- as if they are acting out Sleeping Beauty on ice or something. There is a nice comment from Joslin Seeds. Anyone know where this is?

I'm not sure but what that is kind've universal in most families--at least ones i know.  I realize when you are the only parent in the household you have to depend on yourself in every way--and in your case you are out in the bush so it isn't so easy to get help.  It is probably not only what one needs to do to get along that fosters those abilities but also how one was raised.  My dad taught my sister and me to change tires, chop wood, fix things, use tools, etc. because that is what he learned to do as a kid...and he wanted us to be both independent and survivors. Most of us have it in us to live as we need to; but we may not all have the same need to do it, if that makes sense.

I'm sure you are very capable in all areas and a great example for your boys.

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. There was still quite a gender division when I grew up, Jet.  Girls did needlework at school and boys did woodwork.  Bad luck if you had wanted it the other way around.  No choice.  Funny thing is that two of my best lady friends  have never even learnt how to drive (born 1959 and 1968)  and that, as well as being full-time housewife isn't that rare in that age group either.

Re: The Perfect Ten! And Twentieth Season of DWTS

Good Monday Morning....It is cool and overcast here but should get up to 70 here today.  Between the time change and this crazy weather my body is all confuzzled...LOL

Glad to see everyone was doing well last night...yet again I was unable to attend the fun.  I think I am getting a cold or are allergies starting early this year???

Heading out to see what tumblr is talking about this morning....
