April, I just heard about your daughter. I'm so sorry and I will keep your daughter in my prayers. Nothing else matters except this child who needs our prayers.

Guys can someone hold my hand tonight...I can't stay on but after taking my daughter for a recheck to see why she was still coughing they found a mass in her chest and now she is in the ICU at the children's hospital and they are saying its cancer.....how does a perfectly healthy kid get cancer that quickly....I have to go but I wanted to let you guys know why I might not be here much...she is having a chest tube put in tomorrow and possibly a biopsy if the fluid from her lung doesn't have enough cells in it to tell what kind it is.....I just so don't get it she was fine other than the cough she had that they thought was an upper respiratory infection
April: My arms are out to and for you, your daughter, and your family. May God hold you all in the palm of His hand, give you strength and courage to fight the good fight, and may He restore your daughter back to health.
I am so incredibly impacted by this news, I can't function right now. You are in my thoughts and prayers. There is nothing else right now.

April!!! I stopped reading posts and must comment right away - I am completely devastated for what your family is dealing with right now. I just must share a similar story regarding my dad - long story, but the short version is four years ago he was in a very similar position as your daughter - "upper respitory infection" that just would not go away (he's asthmatic) and suddenly went from bad to worse - seemingly within days. Fast forward - many tests later the docs were VERY convinced that it was cancer (for no reason other than a supposed strike of bad luck). Fast forward again - he had lung surgery at Mayo Clinc in Rochester, MN - turns out he had a rare sort of bacteria he somehow inhaled that caused a massive abscess in his lung. I won't go any further into details now except to say he is perfectly healthy now. Please choose your doctors very, very carefully - some are always better than others - even at Children's. I'm sorry, but I am blanking on where you are located - Denver has Jewish hospital which is famous for lung treatments, and of course there is always Mayo Clinc in MN or MD Anderson if you need to go that route. How old is your daughter? My husband will be celebrating 16 years cancer free this Wed - survived a grade three brain tumor. He always stresses "First WHO, then what ." Please don't give up hope and think the worst for your daughter. I know this is such a scary and overwhelming time for your family. Please feel free to message me if you need anything at all. My husband is quite well connected (due to his job) and we have a wealth of resources should you need them. Take good care, sweetie ... xoxo

Very important information, Tennessee. Thank you for posting that. It is good for all of us to think about. I know April has been down this road before with her husband--and she also has a large family for support. Just hoping and praying for the very best outcome. I know she appreciates everyone's support and concern.
