that's what they are thinking.....or maybe even something more commonly seen in another country

I know that you mentioned that it wasn't related to the transplant....but, could the donor have had "something strange" in the marrow.  Him being from another country might be an answer.  Can the doctors contact the donor and find out more about his history and ever his hereditary issues?  I am not sure if that would be passed on to Niecey......but it is another idea to toss out.

they are actually already checking into that....but so far nothing has turned up....they are focused for right now on finding a way to calm down the auto-immune response

Sounds like a good team of Doctors..........okay, going to try and call my friend in a few minutes.  HUGS

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

Well I think I am going to go for tonight...I know we are all relieved to hear from April tonight and we will all continue to stand beside her and to continually look to help find a answer to help Niecey heal.
As we continue to pray for healing we now will add prayers for the medical staff that are trying to find answers too...

Good night my dear Sisters, try to get some rest and I hope your dreams are good ones...
Till tomorrow....HUGS

In the past two years, I have learned a lot about auto-immune issues.  The reality is that auto-immune issues begin in the gut.  The culprits that work together to create the problem are antibiotics---when a lot are used; processed sugar and the majority of sugar substitutes (aspartame is a huge culprit in auto-immune issues; and all processed foods.   I will get someone who knows a lot more than I do involved and who can recommend Doctors, hospitals and clinics who know what regimen can be used to quiet the auto-immune response.  They can talk with you and directly with Niecey's doctors, if you wish.  I have already sent a text message tonight and will talk to folks tomorrow.

Continuing to pray because it is true that "More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of."
Lots of good wishes and love to you, April, and Niecey.

Meant to say that I am signing off but will log in from time to time tomorrow.   Gabriele, I have so much respect for moms like you.  The regular relief my friends and I had was to have each other's kids come over and play.  Once they were four years old, it was noisy but wonderful.  I imagine that this cannot be a regular option for you.  Somewhere along the line, you should be getting a crown.  Is there music that your little guy likes?

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

Just seeing your collective brainstorming now.  We had a behaviour problem on arrival at school this morning and so I remained in the school's parking lot for the 3 1/2 hours (without Wifi) to be at hand in case of a further escalation.

I will try to search for info in German.  Because I've already been away for 25 years, I can't think of anyone at the moment who would be close to that particular field.

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

April, I have posted in a group of 35,000 people, most of whom research medical issues of their own children and discuss these in the group.  I have asked for prayers as well as I thought you would appreciate.

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

April, I've done some reading up in German.  'Interferon' in its variations (human, recombinant), gets mentioned here and there. But I'm sure if it was that easy, they would have been onto it from the beginning.  Just thought, I'd mention anyway.

Re: Summer, the Season between the Seasons

Actually, April.... I don't know any medical practitioners in Germany.  But just remembering that a very good and long-time friend works in a hospital as assistant to the medical director.  I've just send her an e-mail.
