Hi guys  sorry it took so long to get an update to you all....the last few dates have been incredibly busy.....on Wednesday we met with the transplant doc and then Thursday got admitted to the hospital to begin her intense chemo, yesterday was day one of chemo and she had a bone marrow biopsy....all went well and she tolerated the first dose of the high dose chemo better than expected  this will be a 6 day course of chemo for this first round then if all goes well we will be able to go home for  a bit before the next round......the process of doing the high dose chemo to get rid of the cancerous cells so they can do the transplant is expected to take 2 to 3 months then she will be in the bigger hospital where they are doing the actual transplant for 6 weeks and then following up with the transplant doc daily for 3 months and progressing from there...the whole process is expected to take about a year.....but then.....if all goes well the chances of it ever coming back are slim  they drew my sons blood on Wednesday and we should know if he's a match or if we need to look further for a donor within a week

we are doing well and have had some light hearted moments too.....one of which was when my 6' 3" big, burly, long haired son asked the transplant doc if he could have a pink princess band-aid and then burst out laughing at the look on the docs face.....(who said yes by the way) ...LOL

 Hey, April....the fruit looks great but here's today's rainbow along with prayers and hugs for smooth sailling for the rest of the days you all are in the hospital.  I know you will keep your sense of humor and find giggles wherever you can! 


Gotta run but wanted to stop by and offer something nice to look at while you eat that fruit!!!  BTW, how's the food in the hospital?!!  Hope it tastes as good as that looks!!!  LOL

Good Afternoon Everyone.  Late today trying to get all the stuff done here.  I have washed my hands so much in the last week that my skin feels like sandpaper and raw feeling.  Hubby still has a bit of a fever between 99 and 100...I am praying that his fever breaks today so I can get back in my bed...been sleeping in the den with the dogs and one of them snores like a human!!!!

 

 Goodness, CEK....hoping that your hubby is over the flu bug SOON.  Seems like a long time.....so you be sure to stay well, whatever it takes.

Hi April,​glad she is responding better than expected.  Very good news!   Is the bigger hospital still within commuting distance or will you all be living away from home?  I am with CEK,  good to hear there is a plan and you have started the process.   Keeping my fingers crossed that your big hairy baby bear is a match.  Yes, we'll all watch the season together again.  Hopefully we can persuade view to keep score again.  Have been keeping an eye out for that tasteful tea cosy to add to the impressive price pool for the winner, but no luck as yet.
