Hope you all had a great Easter break.  The Bilby has been and gone and we're all recovering from the chocolate coma.  Tango, you must have a lot of expertise in sewing to make your own costume.  Looking forward to seeing  your creation.  There are still some guesses missing in Luv's chart.  Booky, Niecey, April and Vmmm.

ummmm......Gabriele.......you guys have some interesting looking animals down there...LOL....it's really cute though.....but what is it??????

thanks for the update Tango  I am getting so excited for your competition  your gonna rock it  do they help you design your costumes or do you have to do that on your own???

No, they suggested a couple of places to shop, including the people who provided Sway costumes, but they were WAY beyond my budget.   I found some places on line, one of which was recommended by someone from our studio, that create customized costumes, but they're made in China or Vietnam and take several weeks.  I'm hesitant to order something like that, and the ones I like are kind of pricey, too.   Also, I have some requirements: I want sleeves, at least sheer ones, I don't want backless (it has to be at least above my bra strap), and the Latin dresses cannot be too short.   I'm not skinny, so I want a flattering design because it will be form fitting.

I found on etsy a lady who was selling a pattern/how to book and offers advice on ballroom costumes, selecting fabric, decorating, and fitting.   A ballroom dress is actually a dress attached to a leotard (well, perhaps not the DWTS costumes).   But you can't just use a leotard, because stretch fabric stretches differently, so you make the leotard and the dress and put them on a dress form and attach at the neck and armholes.

My first attempt is my own design for the international standard dances (waltz, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, quickstep, tango).   I've order purple shimmering lycra and orchid chiffon.  It will be scoop necked in front and back, a star design (think Morticia Addams' dress only higher), and each of the slits has 4 layers of semi-circles of chiffon, so it poofs out.   I'm going to do a roll of chiffon attached around the neck as trim.  Then I've ordered rhinestones to put starting on the left shoulder and winding around the body finishing at the top of a chiffon insert on the skirt.   I can't wait to get started.  And I will certainly post a pic (on the dress form) when it nears completion.  You'll have to wait to see it on me until the competition.

oh wow....I bet it's going to be beautiful   I can't wait to see pics

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
We are busy getting ready for our trip to Las Vegas and our own townhouse in AZ.  From the list I've seen of my highschool classmates planning to attend the get together in Las Vegas, it should be a blast.  Many of my favorites and besties are making the trip.

I'll visit with you when I can...and get my picks in for the show of course.

Hugs.

I just want to say Happy Easter to all my wonderful friends.  I hope you day is filled with love and family.

I have always liked Easter because to me it is a time to start things fresh and new...sounds a bit silly but I like to think of it that way...

My grandma use to love this song...and don't you just love the "old movies"...they don't make them like this anymore.

I remember this song  used to hear it every Easter.....along with Peter Cotton Tail

LOL......Okaaayyyy.......so this brings up an interesting question....on our sparks could fly column does it have to be the partner couple or can it be anyone????.....I mean last season....before she got back with Sasha the shipping fun was Alek/Emma ......and now.....welllll.....is Paige single????  .....can our sparks could fly be between ANY two people?????????....even 2 celebs??????

Yes, I'd suggest we don't limit ourselves in the shipping department.  ;)  There seems to be some doubt though that he is hetero,  describing his sexuality as 'fluid' on Wiki.  We might have an all male ship.

HAHA!!! That is hilarious, Gabriele!!! Good one!!

ok well I know sexually fluid basically just means that you are open to whoever you are attracted to at the time as a person regardless of gender ...........sooooo......hmmmm.......I am still going to ship him with Paige but can I add Bruno to the sparks could fly column with him too ........(ummmm......I mean that sparks could fly between either of them and him)  ?????.......cause you know Bruno will be all about him....esp if he is shirtless tonight for the Rumba...LOL.....just joking,  Bruno is too much of a guarentee to make a comment if he's shirtless like he does with Maks and Val

DWTS Week 2 Rehearsal Interview With Jodie Sweetin And Keo Motsepe And New Blog

E Online interviewed Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe in rehearsals for Dancing With The Stars week 2.

Jodie has also written a new blog for People. Here is a little take from the link. You know where to go for more.

For Latin week, Keo and I are dancing a samba. Keo has been a great teacher, but this is the first time since we started rehearsing that I felt like I wasn’t picking up the steps fast enough. That was tough for me but I think I’m a stronger dancer – and person, really – because I was able to buckle down and get the steps.

Also making this week a little more difficult is that our samba is much more sexy than last week’s tango. It took a few days for me to feel comfortable with the routine.
