Well, you can put me down for Mischa going home for next week. I'll have to think about the top of the leader board. Wanya is on fire, but I'll have to see what the dances are, first. Most memorable year can bring surprises.

I agree Vmm....I need to see who's dancing to first....most memorable year is usually very emotional

Good Morning to you all...Well last night was a good show for Latin Night...a bit early in the season I thought but it was good.

I hated to see Geraldo go as I felt he was sincere about being on the show and his positive attitude was great.  I personally had the feeling that Mischa's whole attitude and package about the show was a bit negative and like I said last night she just seemed like a "Debbie Downer" to me...Everyone else on the show has such positive and happy outlooks for the season.  I was sad to see Geraldo go.

I also, personally, thought the scores from some of the judges were a bit low and some of the remarks were a bit harsh for having Latin Week so early in the season.  Some of the Latin dances are difficult later in the season not to mention second week.  But who an I to make those assumptions...LOL

Ok on to the news....

thats what I thought that the Latin Dances are usually later in the season because they are harder.....TANGO.......I would love to hear your take on it, from a dancers perspective.....are the Latin dances harder?????? and better done at the end of the season than the beginning???

May this FriendSHIP always have wind in its sails and a sunrise on the horizon.

Re: Seasons Come, Seasons Go... So Let's Dance Like We're 22

Good Wednesday afternoon!

Well, Monday was a blur with the revolving door of visitors who came 'round...and thanks to everyone who wished hubby "happy birthday"!), Tuesday was almost the same, but today I was finally able to watch Monday's show on the DVR!!

Everyone seemed to have improved....even poor Geraldao who was still terrible but slightly less so than last week...and at least his routine was humorous!!  He was like a tree stump with Edyta dancing around him!  LOL  At least he tried and was philosophical about it all.  Kinda wished he hadn't gone so soon, but that's the way the game goes!!

I was really impressed with Doug Flutie....he seems to be very popular....and such a nice guy.  Since I picked him early as a finalist, I hope he sticks around a while.  I didn't get to vote this week or I would have voted for him!!!  LOL  He'll have to do it without me!!!

So, LUV, here are my guesses for next Monday:

Top of the Leaderboard:      Wanya and Lindsay
Going Home:                       Mischa

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. There were some pics of the two of them walking down the street with arms around each other a few weeks ago--and some speculation about them dating at that time, April.  You might have missed it then.  There was a rumor, if you remember, back in S18 that Val and Jenna were really the couple at that time that no one noticed during the season.  Dunno what if anything is real, of course!!!  LOL

Re: Seasons Come, Seasons Go... So Let's Dance Like We're 22

OK....so today it is very spring-like here...so I have created a little travelogue to one of my favorite places on earth.  It is certainly the most unique of deserts....and soooo beautiful at any time (except in the dead of summer when it is too hot to be there--and there is no shade!!).

The reason for sharing this is that this year Death Valley has had extraordinary rainfall (although we haven't here on the coast), so spring has sprung and about a week or two ago, there was a veritable sea of flowers blooming across the 3.4 million acres--the largest National Park in the US--a Superbloom!

Death Valley was, at one time, in the ocean.  It is located in mid-central eastern California and western Nevada where there is a whoooole lotta nuthin'!!  The highest recorded temperature in the US of 134 degrees F was recorded there in 1913 and still stands as such today.  The ground temperature can be as much as 80 degrees higher than the air temperature; a ground temp of 201 degrees has been recorded!!  So it is no wonder that critters who live there burrow and hide wherever they can find shade, and that flora and fauna often look dead.  But when it blooms after higher than normal winter rains, it is beautiful!

Note the elevation!  282 ft. BELOW sea level--ringed by mountains!

Nothing more amazing than a cactus in bloom.  They are each unique and extremely colorful.

Roadrunner...a bird that generally runs rather than flies

California poppies, the state flower

Nothing more beautiful than a desert sunrise or sunset

This photo is a bit underwhelming (!), but it looked nice before I tinypic'd it!!!

So bon voyage, View....have a safe trip...and enjoy the sights of the Sonora Desert!  You might catch it in bloom.  Arizona has had quite a lot of rain too

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!
