Luv, you got it on the first try.   But Wellesley contacted me through my high school and offered me a scholarship.   My brother got a full ride to Harvard a year later.  Why were these Ivy league schools so interested in us?   Because we were missionary kids and they wanted a diverse student body.  Not very many missionary kids going to Ivy League schools. But the system would not let me post as a respond/quote.  It kept telling me that my syntax is wrong.

Now it is your turn, Luv.

YAY !!!!

That is so cool KOS....What did your brother major in?  I am sure that you have so many interesting stories of your life as a missionary child.

OKAY.......here are mine.

My guess is you love to crochet

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!

👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻Oh, View....you are too clever!! You sussed me out!! I have never learned to crochet!

Here is a photo of me looking smug and trying not to smile on my horse, Blue, when I was about 10 or 11 after I placed 3rd in the barrel racing competition at the county rodeo in NM!! That same year I also entered my first sewing creation and got another 3rd place. It was a "dust mitt" I made in 4-H!!! No photo available of that worthless object (no wonder I hate to dust!)!! Sorry about the bad reflections that look like paint splashes (just a bad iPad photographer!! LOL).

My maternal great-grandmother was born in Hawaii in 1860 and is buried in the old cemetery next to the old stone church in Honolulu on King Street across from the Mission Houses. Her parents were part of the missionary groups who went to Hawaii from Massachusetts starting in 1820....went by boat! My great-grandmother was either 9th or 10th in her family (if I recall correctly, she had a younger brother). Fortunately we have tons of family history on that bunch, which is quite fascinating.

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. This was fascinating, Jet!!

In all honesty I think you may have mentioned something when we were talking about those crazy crocheted necklaces many months ago.  We all have quite a history together!!  And have confided in each other a lot.

I'll post my 3.

I once spent all night alone sleeping in the cab of a truck.

I once spent 6 weeks in Shanghai, China

I once spent my last dollar to catch the bus to an interview… and was hired to a management position.

In catching up with the thread, I had you picked as a yellow girl, but this question is a lot harder.  I pick the last to be a lie.  It sounds the most unlikely for someone so organised, logic and analytic as you, view.  We did a colour study for painting once in art school.  Only a couple of students within a fairly big group picked yellow for it, me included.  Here is the distribution of people's colour preferences,  35% blue, 16% green, 10% purple, 9% red.

Hey, Gabriele...how's everything in your world?  Did you find a school for your son yet?  Is school in session now?

My color pick would be red!

Hi Jet,still no news on the schooling issue.  Waiting to hear that his Dad actually went to visit some and see for himself and get an advocate to talk with my son's advocate.  He rejects having anything to do with her directly as she works for an organisation with the word 'disability' in it.  I think he still lives in total denial that we have a child with a disability/impairment/handicap/non-neurotypical or whatever the politically correct language of the time is.  :/

I had your lie picked, Jet.  In my mind only, of course.  *lol*.  With all the quilting and Brazilian embroidering you are doing, how on earth could you possibly find time to crochet...... ?
