Used to have black standards years ago. Lovely dogs that my hubby called "stupid" because they would exit the front door at every opportunity and run down the block!!! I think that was because they were females!!! LOL
Seriously, tho, our male dogs have been much better about that. They seem to prefer staying in the front yard...or when they wander, it's just to check out the neighbor's tree across the street...or check to see if his girl friend (Schnauzer) can come out to play!!

Hey Luv...Thanks for asking...
I am sorry that I didn't put my update on yesterday, and I was going to do it when I got on for a minute in the afternoon but the phone was ringing and the the dog was wanting to go out so I just got off cause I couldn't concentrate....
I absolutely loved the orthopedic doctor yesterday he was very nice, gentle and had a wonderful bedside manor answering all my questions...and he is NOT surgery "pushy"...
The only think that is going to completely take care of the problems in my knee is to do a full replacement but he said that I didn't have to do it until I knew that I was ready to have it done and he said that I would know when that time was. I got a cortisone shot in it and it feels a bit better in some area but not to much in the other...I can live with that for now...I do have a high pain tolerance which he said could be good and bad at the same time. Good because I can take the pain but bad because I actually didn't know that my knee was in the shape it was in...he said most people with a knee like mine would be in terrible unbearable pain not even able to walk, so I guess I am lucky in that area...
So I am going to wait it out and see how it goes. I know it is not good to wait until things get so bad that the repair is much more than it could have been, but right not is not the time...
Hi, CEK....glad you like the doctor and that you got sound advice.
Have a friend who has similar problems. Has already had one knee replacement and now it is the hip on the same side---but that began as very bad back spasms. The pain meds make her hallucinate (!)--even when cut in half--so she has been pretty much laid up in bed for 3-4 weeks at a time twice since maybe April? She is getting around now but only after seeing the orthopedist (who did the knee replacement). He told her the cortisone shot in the hip would tell them if it was the hip or the spine. If it's the hip, he said, the cortisone will make her feel like she can get up and move around, etc. If the shot didn't help at all, they would know it was spine and he would send her to a spine specialist.
So the shot has worked for the past month (he said it might work for a week or 6 mos...or not at all!), she is doing noticeably better, has returned to work and other normal activities slowly. She starts physical therapy on Monday to see if that helps (she has alot of arthritis in her hips and some in her spine, so....) but the likelihood of a hip replacement is definitely on the table. So I would say that both diagnoses are quite similar. Just be sure to do the replacement before you fall and break a bone. Our quilt teacher has broken her legs and/or ankles about 4 times in 5 years because she needs one or both knees replaced and hasn't done either!!! NOT good!!!
Stay well and keep moving! Thanks so much for that Jet...I try to be careful and take it easy. The cortisone shot has made some improvement in the pain but not all of it. I definitely don't want to break anything. I know that a replacement is in the future how far that is the question. I have been told that you don't want to wait to long as the damage can be more difficult to correct. I did get good news from my bone density test it has improved from the one two years ago that was good to hear. I guess all the calcium and vitamin D are doing what they should. I hope now that I have had the cortisone shot I can get back to the exercises that I got from PT that I haven't been able to do like I should because it was painful...
Hope you are doing well Jet. How is the weather in your neck of the woods??? I hope the fires out there are calming down...
Wishing you well, CEK, as you continue down this road. Hope you will get some relief from the shot and also the PT. It was weird how my friend thought it was her back...I know that pain can transfer and/or affect other joints or areas that we use when we try to compensate or alleviate the pain. Great that your bone density has improved.
Our weather is picture perfect at the moment! I won't hold my breath, tho, as September is coming nad we always get some of our hottest days in September and October...sometimes November even! They don't last that long, but can be uncomfortable. However, the nites have begun to cool already, I've noticed. We sleep with windows open so sometimes it's too cool for the ceiling fan.
I think they have gotten a handle on the fires. Gunner said she didn't even get smoke--and she lives quite close to (southeast of) the big one in the Cajon pass (although she is below the bottom of the pass). But fires in the canyons create their own weather....it's a funny thing. We could see from here the clouds formed by that fire above the mountains about a week ago...looked pretty much straight up, so that was good. Wasn't a cloud in the sky between here and there.
I need to pack up some stuff before my friend gets here to pick me up. Headed to another quilting friend's house for the afternoon to sew, then to Souplantation for supper afterwards.
Hope everyone has a great day---stay well, CEK!

Whatever one might say about Amber Rose...and it looks like a LOT of things could be said...
she must surely be a go-getter. Stripping at 15 to help support her family after parents divorce? ?
To a $4 million mansion...
