Tango, I was wondering how you spent last evening.  At the viewing party?   Hope you had a blast.  Were your lessons all you hoped they'd be.  I imagine you have full range of motion with the arm now.  True?

yes, cant wait till you give us a report.

So far everything has been wonderful.  I have been welcomed with open arms at the Glen Rock studio, as I knew I would be.   Yesterday was intense but great.  Four hours of lessons!  Hubby had two!  I was sore and exhausted but so pleased with how everything went.  Most of my lessons were with Anton, but at the end of the afternoon, I had one with Vlad.  We worked on jive.  I learned that he was also one of Maks' students.  He was in all but the last Sway and was also on the tour this summer.

We went back to our hotel and showered and then went back for the viewing party.  That was fun.  Everyone is friendly.  We spent a few minutes trying to convince this couple that Anton had invited that they should take dance lessons.  They had chairs set up and refreshments.   Then we all watched the dances.  During the commercials, they played music and people danced.  Maks and Val got big applause, of course.

Today began with a TWO-HOUR lesson with Tony!  From what I could tell, he came specifically to work with me.  I was greeted with a big hug.  We worked hard on rumba & samba.  I was dancing with Anton and Tony was critiquing me.  It was intense but exhilarating.  I am still on a high from that.

After a break, I had another lesson with Anton.  He wanted to go over some of the samba we had worked on with Tony, but after a nearly 2-hr break, my hips didn't want to go there anymore.   Then I had a lesson with Ivan.  He was in Sway and was also on the tour this summer.  He was a lot of fun.  I really enjoyed dancing with him, too.

We go back tomorrow for a few more lessons, and then Thursday morning we return the car and head into the city for the rest of the week at Soho!

Tango sounds like you had a wonderful time and great experience...I am glad you got to work with Tony...he is such a wonderful dancer.  Glad you had fun at the "viewing party" too...

Will look forward to your report on the rest of your time...
Have fun...HUGS

James Hinchcliffe 'Dancing With The Stars' Rehearsal
Canadian race car driver James Hinchcliffe suffered a near-fatal car crash at last year's Indianapolis 500. Now, he's ready to do a lap around the dance floor on "Dancing With The Stars", and we caught up with him during rehearsals before his big debut.

Update On Protester Incident, DWTS Re-Evaluating Security, Pros And Celebs Head Back To Rehearsals
According to Good Morning America this morning, the protesters who stormed the stage on Dancing With The Stars are out of jail now. They comment on why they did it below (rolleyes). In the GMA report, note how the show is re-evaluating their security protocols and they are increasing security.

Cheryl Burke is still shaken by the incident. A source tells People that “She can’t believe people can be so hateful and cowardly.” According to another People report, Ryan is suffering from ankle injury because of the incident. Cheryl also comments that everyone is still shaken by what happened, but, they were able to rehearse yesterday and are moving forward. Be sure to read both People links for more.Cheryl Burke Says Her Heart Is 'Aching' for Ryan Lochte – but Insists They Will Make aDWTS Comeback
http://www.people.com/article/dancing-stars-cheryl-burke-shaken-post-ryan-lochte-protest-incident

This morning, I got up and headed to rehearsal with the other pro dancers. Everyone is definitely a little shaken up about what happened, but it’s good to be dancing and focused on next week’s show.

I’m sure security will be increased for Monday’s show but, honestly, I still feel 100 percent safe in the ballroom. We have an amazing security team who have worked on the show for years and they are incredible.

This afternoon I’m headed to rehearse with Ryan. I know it will probably take us a few weeks to put this incident behind us, but I know Ryan wants to move forward and he’s not going to let this bring him down.

We have a quickstep this week and Ryan did injure his ankle a little when the protester got tackled, so we’ll have to see how our first rehearsal goes. But at the end of the day, we are all just so grateful that no one was more seriously injured.

This is a family-friendly show that should never be the source of any hate. It’s about celebrating dance and making people happy and I look forward to getting back to that next week.

Cheryl also spoke with Entertainment Tonight.
Cheryl Burke Says Ryan Lochte Injured His Ankle When 'DWTS' Protesters Stormed the Stage

Burke said that her first concern was that the man was armed, and with children in the audience, things could quickly go from bad to tragic. But security rapidly responded to put a stop to the protest.

“I looked up to Ryan and I could tell he was on the verge of tears. I could feel his heart sinking into his stomach – and to be honest, mine was too,” she recalled. “I started getting teary eyed and apparently was shaking… I just wanted to be strong for Ryan.”
