Evening Everyone...Hope your day was good so far...The sun finally came out this afternoon but it is cool...will be in the 70's here this weekend...YAY   With the mild winter that we have actually had it makes me wonder what our summer will be like...cooler or hotter with lots of humidity???

Ditto.  The others have had on and off phases.  Makes me skeptical about their prospects for relationship longevity.  Even at the beginning of S. 18, Charlie was saying on Ellen that they both were in relationships.  The fans on the skating boards have speculated that they have been together since sometimes after the 2010 Olympics.  Beats the other couples.  I'm glad that they (or Meryl) are finally confident (or whatever else was missing....) to come out.  Plus, they are a sight for sore eyes....

Granddaughter stayed overnight with us last night.  I let her stay up to watch the culmination of the Westminster Kennel Club Show.  She was rooting so hard for Rumor, the gorgeous German Shepherd female, to win.  (She is a German Shepherd lover - the K-9 cops have visited her school a couple of times with their GS and Belgian Malinois)  Last year, Rumor was best in breed, best in the herding group, and a favorite in the Best in Show lineup...and then the announcement came, the winner is, the German Sh.....orthair Pointer !!  What?!

So Rumor retired...5  years old.  And as I understand it, the owners/handlers only just a month ago decided to give her one more go at it since she was still in superb shape and health.

So the show went on too late for a school night, but was worth it to her.  Best In Show: Rumor !!!

I LOVE Rumor, such a quality girl.  She is even better in person.   I am very happy that she won.

Hey Luv...have you actually seen her in person???

Yep, and my furbabies are sort of....indirectly...related.

Well it is a dreary day here today cloudy and cool here with rain coming sometime today...

Jet is the Oroville Dam near you or any of your family???

News time...

Hey, CEK....I missed responding to that question about Orville the other day.  Sorry....  That is about 450 miles north of us.  I think the reason fr the big evacuation was that 60 miles north of Sacramento is (kinda) north suburban Sacramento.  There are a couple universities in some of the smaller communities (UCDavis, Cal State Chico, Sacramento State, etc.).  I heard they had evacuated 200,000 people.  However, they have let them go back home.....BUT more rain is forecast for this weekend.

Sadly, the Orovilled Dam was built in the 1950s or early 1960's, it is a state dam (not federal), so the state has probably been negligent in maintaining it (maybe never even budgeted for it or its replacement).  It's the spill-over that is a problem.  The water level has come substantially down.  With the vast expanses of non-populated real estate in this (huge) state, I don't understand why there is never much strategic planning (or so it would appear) in locating some of the infrastructure.  The California aqueduct system was quite genius back in the day....but there has been virtually ZERO modernization or creation of alternative systems as the population has burgeoned 😠 in order to prevent some of these disasters or potential disasters.  But what do I know?!!!  LOL

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Jet,
As with all of John Grisham's books - I'm sure it will be great !  I have liked some more than others, but he's a great writer isn't he.  Some folks say he's not good with women, women's authentic point of view, conversation etc.

I am only on about page 50 of this book.  It so far hasn't "grabbed" me, I just read it for a while at bedtime, but it seems like an interesting story.  The Whistler has to do with a whistle blower.

Hey, View....I think sometimes it takes 50 or so pages to get into the story....and sometimes he introduces quite a few storylines that need to get sorted out before you really get into it.  Hopefully The Whistler is one of those.  The first one of his that I read was "A Time to Kill"--and that was, ironically, while I was on jury duty!!!  LOL. I think that was one of his best.  While I haven't read all of them, I have read quite a number and I agree some are better than others.

I have grown to think that perhaps they are well suited to each other.  I just wish they would pull the trigger on the commitment factor!!!  LOL
