Same here with the encyclopedias.
In fact, when I was very young, because there were 3 older kids in the family, the first set of books of that type I can remember reading and finding information in was called The Book of Knowledge. And the 2nd set we had was Encyclopedia Americana.
And yes, we had an oak bookcase just like this:
Except it was blond oak. And it seems to me even in to the early years of my marriage in the late 60's there were salesmen who came around ... the sets were ridiculously expensive. But you could pay for them 'on time'. Vacuum cleaners were still sold like that too. When I was a little girl, the Fuller Brush Man called door to door. And Watkins Products. And Stanley Products.I remember those sales people too. The World Book lady called on me when my first child was a couple of weeks old!!!!!!!!! Or maybe it was a month.
I remember mama and daddy getting them for me too...It was like a book every week or something...Kids now a day don't even know what encyclopedias are all they have to do is "google" something..LOL

I figured that Simone Biles would be paired with Sasha because they are the shortest pro and celeb. I look forward to seeing how she does. He has a good chance with her, I think.
Bet that Maks gets Nancy Kerrigan?!! I think that is a lock.
I tend to agree with you Jet...I can't imagine Kym coming back and getting Mr. T???

I wanted to have the kids' photos taken and it seems that all the Target studios have closed but they haven't removed the studio hours from their website so who would know?!!! I won't go into too much detail....LOL....suffice it to say there was enough drama to cover about a week!! LOL. Then, between figuring out what to wear, getting everyone bathed and hair done, going to Target where we found out all their studios had permanently closed (!!!), we managed to find a JCPenney that has a studio near my SIL's house. Long story VERY short, the experience was LOVELY, the kids were GREAT, and we will have some nice group and individual photos of the 3 of them. This is the first professional "shoot" for the li'l one (who was really all into it!)--and the other two haven't been for pics since the last time I took them about 4 or 5 years ago!! They have closed all the studios (except very expensive ones) in Eureka....so this was the one and only chance they may have to do this for a while.
Fortunately we had enough leftover spaghetti to feed the hungry mob when we got home about 6:30 (stopped by SIL's on the way back)---and both the older girls were able to get some school work done after supper. Tomorrow we will spend most of the day with the hammer down on homework. Daughter will leave for SD about 8 PM to avoid most of the traffic.
Sweet dreams, one and all!
I didn't know the Target Studios had closed...We never had on at our Target but my daughter in DC went there several times in Reston to get their family pics done...
I am lucky my DIL (Kalebs mommy) has a photography business out of her home so we can get them done with her and then she has a friend that will take a "family" shot for us...
I actually didn't know JC Penney still had the studios...

Good Morning Sisters...Busy morning today...my SIL had to take the dog to the vet this morning to get one of his lumps biopsied (he has quite a few of them and they so far are all fatty tumors) this one was a bit different and since it is almost a year since we found out our Bella had "C" we were concerned... and they just let me know that this one was a fatty one also....
Well another Spring Like day here and I just wish it would stay this way and stop jumping back and forth...I will probably regret this about mid to late July wanted to have warmer weather. LOL
Well in less than 24 hours we will know who will be competing on Season 24 of DWTS...I am a bit excited to see who will and will not be on the show...Still can't believe that Jenna is not and then I read that Cheryl Burke isn't coming back...and Kym is coming back...Hmmmm this is going to be interesting.
So lets see what is going on today...
