I saw this list someplace....we mothers and grandmothers might be interested.

There is one more that came to mind for me.

1.Teach your child to always say, “Please” when asking for something and “Thank you” when receiving something or when someone has helped them.

2.Teach them to say, “Excuse me” when you need they need to get through a crowd, bump into someone or want to get someone’s attention.

3.Teach them not to interrupt. Whether it be interrupting a conversation between two people that they are not a part of (unless it is an emergency) or when someone is speaking to them.

4.Show them how it’s impolite to comment on other people’s characteristics or physical appearances, unless if it is a compliment. And that there are things a person has no control over.

5.Teach your child to ask permission. It’s important that they understand if they aren’t sure about taking or using something, it is always better to ask first.

6.Enforce the importance of gratitude. Show your child how to write a simple thank you note. Especially when they receive gifts in the mail, they shouldn’t be allowed to use the gift until they have properly thanked whoever gave it to them.

7.Give your child a lesson in hygiene. Teach them to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze and to never pick their nose and always use a tissue.

8.Teach them to politely respond when someone asks them how they are and to ask the question back.

9.Tell them how important it is to respect other people’s privacy. Always knock on closed doors and wait for a response before opening it.

10.Enforce the idea of table manners. Teach them to not reach across the table to get something, but instead ask if someone can pass it to them. Mouth closed while chewing, not talking with mouth full.

11.Teach them to hold the door open for others if the opportunity presents itself and always say, “Thank you” if someone held the door for them.

12.Show them how to clean up after themselves both after play time and eating a meal.

13.Teach them to show respect by standing and taking their hat off for the National Anthem or Pledge of Allegiance.

14.Tell them to try to remember people’s names and to address people by their names when speaking to them.

15.Teach them not to litter and how important is it to keep our earth clean.

16.Tell them why it’s important to always have good sportsmanship whether you lose or win.

17.Make your child aware that many homeowners prefer that guests take off their shoes at the door.

Wouldn't that be nice if all parents/grandparents taught their children it would be even better if adults would do the same thing...I still say yes maam and no maam and yes sir and no sir to other people...that is one thing my parents were strict about...and I am 60 years old and I taught my children the same thing as well....

Re: SEASON 24 is knocking at our door...

Evening everyone...I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I may not be back on tonight before I hit the hay....my daughter is doing questions from the DNA test we all took and it may take a while...She had us all do the "23andMe"  mostly for the genetic information and not as much the ancestry...we just have to get my son to do it now...

It is quite interesting I wish I could have had it done on my parents while they were still here...

So if I don't get back tonight I will see you all in the morning...
So in advance...have a restful night and sweet dreams...
Hugs till then...

It's a good one to do, CEK.  It is in wide use within the autism biomed community.  About 60% of the population have the MTHFR gene mutation that impacts on detoxifying pathways.  Chances are you get something good out of it, if you have chronic health problems.  Good move!!!!

I will do some heavy thinking this weekend Luv and give you my guesses...I may get the darts out mysefl Jet....

OK, Luv....here are my dart board predictions!! LOL

CBros category: Peta gone first, then Maks, then Val
First to get a 10: Simone Biles
First out: Peta and her guy with the 'tude (sorry, forgot his name!)

Does the Fauxmance get any points?

Luv here are my "pre-show" guesses
Peta first to go, then Maks, the Val
Fomance-Sharna and Bonner

Going home first I am torn between Charo and Cris and Nick but I am going to say Nick and Peta
I think a lot of people may want to see what Charo can do...I am not sure how Chris will do at all but he may have a SNL following and Nick from the Bachelor I don't know about him at all....but I don't care for him....

First to get a 10-Simone and Sasha
I am going to say for Sparks to fly, Peta and Nick (in a not good way)
I would say Sparks for Sharna and Bonner (in a good way)...LOL

Luv can we change any of the "pre-show"  guesses after we see the first show???

No, those do not change, but like View said in the previous post, we will get to choose another couple (or can be the same one) to be the first to be voted out.  SO, a person could win 2 pts from that column

ok.  I'm going to say...

Before show airs, going home:  Nick Viall    any points if get that right?
Top of the Leader Board:  Heather and Maks
No bad sparks...even Maks is kind of mellow this season
Good sparks: Keo and Normani Kordei
Chmerkovskiys:  Peta goes home first, then Maks, Val lasts the longest
I think I said Charo might go home due to injury...but she looks pretty agile and fit.  But I'll stick with that.

I think I can wait with the other categories until after seeing the show.  Is that right, Luv?

yep..

View do you think with the new producer or what they have been told to keep things a bit more hush hush for this season???

Entirely possible, I think, CEK....don't you?

I actually do Jet...it is just so odd that all the other seasons social media was on fire with posts and now with new "higher ups" social media is almost at a stand still....

Yes, it is kind of strange.

Re: SEASON 24 is knocking at our door...

Hi view!
I stick with my rainbow for now, as it always reminds me of April and Niecey when I log on.
Read through your behaviour codex, view.  Times have changed, but the children who have been brought up accordingly stand out pleasantly.  It's a heck of a job with my little guy.  As a rule of thumb, he needs to be told up to 100 times for something to register reliably; you might get away with about a dozen times with a neurotypical child, I'd say.  So there is the exercise in patience right there for me.

April,
hope you and Niecey got through your difficult week ok and that your pain starts to ease.  Love to you sister.   <3
