Oh, and yes, CEK. we're getting hit with the Nor'easter tomorrow.

It is really cold here in VA too and looks like snow...they say we may get some flurries on Wednesday...my daughter in DC said they are expecting snow tomorrow too!!!

Hoping it doesn't interfere with air travel by Thursday!! I'm more concerned about the possibility of (stupid) protestors at LAX than snow in DC!!! LOL. You just deal with snow when it happens; protestors I have little patience for when what they are doing won't change how the law works but rather just anger those whom they directly impact (who have no ability to change things anyway).

Hey Jet...was just listening to the weather and they are calling for 4-7 inches in the DC area, then it will be moving north from what they said...it is snowing in PA now too!!!  Hopefully by Thursday it should be alright to travel...
Hopefully you won't have any trouble at LAX...

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!

I had no idea there was such a day but I feel like this is one to post...

They deserve a lot more credit than they ever receive...

NATIONAL K9 VETERANS DAY =inheritMarch 13th recognizes National K9 Veterans Day.
A lot of things changed after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. Oil, leather and rubber were rationed. Men were drafted. Women rolled up their sleeves and built war supplies.
And dogs were called to duty. During the first world war, the United States took notice of the European use of canines as sentries, message carriers and several other functions.
Dogs for Defense was a program initiated by a private citizen by the name of Mrs. Alene Erlanger. Along with the American Kennel Club and a handful of breeders, the group aimed to train the dogs for military use.
By November of 1942, the first Dogs for Defense were prepared for duty in North Africa. While at first they were gun shy, they proved to be well trained.
As the war progressed, Dogs for Defense was unable to keep up with the demand and the Remount Branch, Service Installations Divisions took over training of the dogs.
Over the years the military, police and rescue have developed a variety of training methods for K9 units. Their training is tailored to meet the demands of the job and each animal and handler carries out his or her duties to the fullest.

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer.  I've been looking at accuweather too....and it seems like DC may get lucky.  They are saying it is possible that that area will get rain/sleet rather than much snow....and that it should move out by tomorrow afternoon.  It will be cold but I've already designated a bag for the winter accessories (hats, gloves, scarves, thermals, etc.).  We'll need some of that for the rink anyhow!!  LOL. I read earlier that a judge may have stopped the travel ban...which, at this point, would be nice!!!  LOL. Doesn't mean some deadbeats won't be hanging around the entrance to LAX...but it's not that bad a walk down terminal row if we had to bail out on a side street and make a run for it!!!  LOL

Tied for 2/3 place at bunco tonite.  Ended up with 3rd place when we rolled off.  I'll take it!

HOpe you all are resting well....getting caught up on the lost hour of sleep!!

Good night!
