Hey Jet...When do you leave for your trip to Alaska and how long will you be away???We fly to Vancouver on the 28th; cruise leaves July 2. Return early on the 16th. Have a few days in Vancouver and a few at the end to check out hubby's old memories in Anchorage. Whole family is looking forward with great anticipation!
What a wonderful trip it sounds like it will be...I know you will have a wonderful time. How many in your family are going??
Kids and grandkids and us....so 11 total. It should be really great for the 4 older kids because they are at great ages to remember so much....12, 10, 10, and 8. Baby cakes will be 4 next month, but she will remember stuff through photos and such.

Oh my I love moose..we saw them when we took a trip to New England many years ago....
I have a friend that moved from here to Alaska to be with her daughter. Her daughter was doing an internship at Denali National Park and loved it there and stayed. So her parents moved there too.

What wonderful memories. I know what you mean about the 4 year old. Kenzie remembers going to Hawaii when we show her pictures but Kaleb remembers flying there and some of the of we did and my daughters wedding.
I have taken a cruise to the Caribbean and it was fun but if I was to ever go on another on it would be the one to Alaska...

Have heard absolutely NO negative comments from anyone (and there are many, including the bank teller today!) who has gone on a cruise to Alaska. Unequivocally a fabulous destination. Hubby's family lived there for 4 years in the late 1950s (USAF) and he hasn't been back since he left after his first year of college. Not getting any younger so we have to check this off our bucket list!! LOL

That would be a great choice! It is so different....and scenic. Gunner has been on an AK cruise and she has wonderful things to share about the sights, etc. Recommended binoculars, so I bought a pair! Now will have to try to "buy time" while the kids try to get their turn!!! LOL. The bald eagles are spectacular, Gunner said.

I agree....everyone that I have heard of going on a cruise there or being there in the service loved it and several of them stayed or returned there to live.

I love moose too, although I guess they are very aggressive if they have calves!
Our quilt teacher's granddaughter, who is about 23 or so, is working in Denali this summer. When she was 18 she went to AK and worked for Princess, I believe. She did that during summers for a couple of years, then went to the Philippines with a friend, worked as a baker at Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim and at Disney for a while....now back to AK!! She and her aunt drove up this year. Took them 10 days but they stopped to see things along the way. Apparently she loves the job up there this year as well.
