sharnaburgess @nopenother there are 2 people in the world that have taught me everything I know about dance, not just as an art form beyond movement, but how to truly create a moment that people remember. You are most certainly one of those 2 people. To say that you deserved this doesn't come close to doing your work justice, but it's definitely a good start and about time you got that dang trophy!! This year for you has been huge, Beyond your undeniable genius with @dancingabc, @danceonfox and the silver screen , you are taking on an even bigger role and that is creating a place for choreographers where they are respected, acknowledged, heard, and appreciated for the work we do. No trophy can explain or stand up to the gratitude that we all have for you and the movement you have been a part of starting. I am so grateful I get to work with you, learn from you, and call you a friend. Congratulations beautiful woman you absolutely deserve it ❤️❤️❤️ #seeyouat9am 🙈

Hey guys
quick check in....we made it through the night....it's still very windy and rainy....we are under curfew until 6 tonight......but so far so good.....hubby was able to check on our house and so far we have a huge tree down but it landed across the road and didn't hit anything.....and a few shingles and some trim off our roof down and no power but considering the massive damage all over the state we have been blessed it wasn't worse.....we haven't been able to contact all our family members yet so please keep praying they are all ok....we have family all over the state .... Will update again soon (((hugs)))
[Hey, April.....GREAT NEWS, all things considered!. How are things for you all up in the Jax area? I hope where you all are is comparatively alright also. I had to chuckle that you....and bunches of others....all went north and then Irma had a mind of her own and wanted to "come and git ya!!"
. Seriously, I do hope and pray that you all are dry, maybe even have power, and that you have enough food and water for the next week or so, in case it's that long before you can really travel home.
VERY excited that your house withstood any major damage!! YEA!!! A few shingles here 'n there, a huge tree that did no damage when it fell, no loss of life, and if there was no flooding, I'd say you came out almost unscathed. YA DONE GOOD, KID!!. We have a big tree in our back yard that really needs to come out. It' is listing toward the house---and we don't get hurricanes,---but we still need to call the tree guys. They'll have it out in an hour!!! LOL
So far as I can tell, it seems that Irma didn't do nearly as much damage as she could have.....and for that we can all be thankful. I'm sure Floridians are as resourceful and as community oriented as Texans, so the major clean up will hopefully be pretty quick....and hopefully the power will be restored pretty quickly as well.
Thanks for keeping us posted! (((HUGS)))

I just realized that I forgot to post that the girls both received their black belts! After the test, we found out that the younger one has strep throat. So, it turns out that getting her black belt was even more of an accomplishment than we realized! Yesterday was also my youngest daughter's birthday. So, busy weekend!
I think that about covers it...LOL
CONGRATS TO BOTH YOUR DAUGHTERS, VMMM.....hope that the one with strep throat gets well soon too---and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO the youngest!!!!

Glad you've chosen the safest option, April. Hope your hubby is safe, too in the midst of it. Since there isn't anything to be done about the weather, perhaps you can enjoy the unplanned get together with relatives. Please let us know when it has blown over and you're safely back home. xox
My brother who lives in Southern VA not too far from where CEK lives gets very excited when they have a hurricane! As a retired Navy cook, he is thrilled by the power outage that lets him fire up his generator that powers the entire house (!), bring the BBQ grill into the garage to cook burgers, and start cooking for the masses....just like he did while he was in Guam or Bermuda where the galley was the shelter and the mess staff cooked for the families and the troops!! It makes me laugh when he calls me up to gleefully tell me that he's just lost power!!! LOL. I think the strongest hurricane they've had in VA BCH was about Cat 3....so nothing like what Irma is. For my brother, a hurricane party is always in order until the rain and wind stop and all the neighbors get out to help clean up afterwards. Last hurricane (forgot the name), he was without power for a week.
Thoughts and prayers for all in Florida because everyone will likely be affected.![]()
Yes Jet he is just around the corner so to speak...I don't get that excited when the hurricanes are coming...I remember Isabel in 2003 when it made land fall in the outer banks of NC and came our way and we were without power for 15 days...We didn't have a generator then and don't have one yet but are going to be getting one if I have my say so...LOL
LOL. LOL. I keep telling my hubby we need to get a generator too because we are waaaaay overdue for "the big one" (earthquake). I think it was Isabelle when my brother called me when his power went out!!! LOL. Thot it was another "I" name!!! LOL. Still hot and a bit muggy here---in the upper 80s. Wish you'd quit sending us the humidity, CEK!!! LOL

I was into watching Lakers basketball when Derek Fisher was playing on the team and I really liked him as a player and as a person....so this guy may be one to watch!! He was a smart player and very steady and consistent. He looks like he is going to be fun to watch on the dance floor.
If I recall, he was a player who was very cool in the clutch....so I think he/they could do well. He'll do fine iwth the footwork, I think, because of his athletic training. Sharna finally got a partner that might take her to the MBT.
