Sorry to see that the SS Maksyl passengers weren't in the same party mood as the ones on a certain catamaran in the waters around Hawaii.
On our suspicion that MnM don't use every opportunity to spend time together... Well, I don't have the time to analyse this like the Tumblr girls do. On reading up in the skating forums though, I get the impression that the skating community knows about more commitments than the MnM fanbase does. Just an impression.
The harem pic doesn't really bother me. Maks has made it clear that he is ready to have a family, more sooner than later, by the sounds of it. That shows maturity. But it hasn't been happening for him in a while. We know at least four or so years since the engagement to Karina. Patience isn't one of his strong suits, by own admission. Does he compensate by living it up? Is there a little touch of recklessness, born out of frustration to the way he goes about it? I am inclined to file the pic in this category.
I realised I have been signed in non-stop for over half a day. It doesn't mean that I am there - sometimes I get called away and simply forget to sign out. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude.

I checked Maks' FB page. So much hate over the picture. Wow. If he & Meryl aren't together, then it's not a big deal. If they are together, it's still not a big deal. Jenna is protecting him. I guess he should be more careful about what he puts out there, if he cares about what his fans think. But if Meryl's not worried, no one else should be, either. Okay, back to my day. A few days ago we were discussing what in the world Meryl could do with a degree in cultural anthropology and how she said that she also wants to get a master's degree. That was when I said she could forget about the master's and just get a degree in Maksology! We've had a lot of fun with that!
Well, yesterday, when I was in the waiting room at the Dr.'s office, I struck up a conversation with a woman who is a college professor. She has a bachelor's, master's and Phd in anthopology from the University of Texas here in Austin! I never mentioned Meryl, but I asked her what kinds of jobs are available in that field and was it mainly for archeological digs and maybe a museum curator. These are possibilities, but she said she has never done that kind of work and that the field offers many opportunities. She has her own business in addition to teaching two days a week and has done work here for the Austin Fire Department and Police Department too. It's best to work for organizations in the town where you live, because you will have a better understanding of the problems. The fire department hired her to do a study about hiring practices which have raised concerns about the lack of Blacks in the AFD. Also, the police department hired her to look into the number of arrests of Black men compared with others. These are concerns that have to be addressed because Austin has come under scrutiny in these areas. So she does detailed studies to help find out what is being done and what can be done about them. She has done many other things but I just mentioned these two. She herself is a black woman, and I felt that she added greatly to my knowledge -- after all, learning is a lifelong endeavor.
It was so great to have a conversation with someone who was articulate and intelligent.
And that is how I feel about all of you -- so much fun to get to know intelligent people who are astute and fun. And that is why you will all make an A on our Friday test!!
