It is exciting....think we have passed each other in some shops. Yes, I have been to several in San Diego are (bro leaves there) but not Rosy's. Need to put that on my list. There is one really great one in San Marcos.....tons and tons and tons of awesome fabric including wool! I don't do my machine quilting, pay someone else to do it. It just looks so difficult to even get it basted right. I have done a couple of small wall hangings doing hand quilting. I struggle with a thimble so it is tough. Did you used to go to Leah's?
Are you referring to the shop in the gray farmhouse--Fat Quarters Quilt Shop--actually in Vista? It is FABULOUS--one of my favs anywhere. Not far north off the 78? Lots of wool, upstairs, downstairs, little rooms and the attic? Of course I used to go to Leah's when there were several; there was one in Cerritos Mall. The last one to bite it wasn't far from Orange Quilt Bee before it opened. I think one of the Leah's owners may be a partner in OQB? Not sure, tho. Have you been to Flying Geese in Tustin? There is another big one on the 15 north of Escondido called.....let me think....hmmmm...can't recall right now. Nice shop. Will have to look through my quilt run stuff from June for the name. Been there twice.
Do you know M&L Fabrics in Anaheim (I think it is Anaheim right there)--Knott Ave. and Cerritos Ave.? Probably the MOST fabric in one spot on the planet!!! HAHA You have to be careful to check for quality, tho, cuz it's not quilt shop grade but some of it is not that bad (better than Joann, for sure)--and really check the flat folds. It's not far from me--maybe 5 miles. Prices are very good on some stuff and less than quilt shop on everything--20% off on notions.![]()
Yes,Fat Quarters in Vista (my son lives in Vista).....I could spend all day in that place!!! Not been to Flying Geese ----it's good you say?Yes, one of the owners of Orange Quilt Bee was affiliated with Leah's somehow. Last year I went to M&L Fabrics.............that is the most I have seen in one place. I agree, though, you have to watch the quality.
Do you go to Road to California?
Yes on Road. Not as good this year, I didn't think. Agree on Fat Quarters. Have you been to Eleanor Burns' place in San Marcos? Ok--lots of stuff but I have trouble really getting into her place. Almost over stimulating and the warehouse layout isn't that attractive.
Do you know Stars and Scraps and Quilters' Cocoon--both of 91 in Riverside? Both pretty good.

Yes, I have been to both places.....Quilter's Cocoon is the best of the 2....was just there a couple of weeks ago....I had stopped going to Road because it was just too crowded. This year I went early on Sunday and it was much better. I used restraint and didn't buy much!

I do agree because it was tabo in those days...but to be compared with Fred and Ginger...wow!!!
The power and beauty of Meryl and Maks's dancing can also be seen in the impact of their dances on the two young women who do most of the hosting on After Buzz. I finally made myself watch the videos that one of you brought over, videos with only the portions where Meryl's and Maks's dances were reviewed. I had seen them express so much bias in favor of Derek and against Maks that I was genuinely delighted over how much these two women came to love Meryl and Maks and were both genuinely happy because they believed MnM deserved to win the mirrorball. Thanks to whomever brought those videos over for us to see.
Yes--I thought those were nice to see. Long but worth looking at.
Well, it's true that Sexier wasn't in then. They danced during the days when even a married couple slept in twin beds (in a movie). With Maks wanting to do films, might be time to bring those beds back!!!!
