So after 8 days of complete CRAZINESS....19 people sleeping in our house for 4 nites!!!....providing breakfast each morning (bagels, yogurt, sweet rolls, juices, coffee, etc.--so no cooking), 1 lunch, and "the last supper" (tacos) Thursday nite for 6 adults, 3 visiting granddaughters (daughter was a chaperon), 10 high school students (all females except for one lone sophomore boy!), and 2 looong days in Disneyland, the "vacancy" sign is back up!!!!! LOL. The group came down from the HS where our daughter teaches in Northern CA for a student leadership conference in Ontario (east of us about 50 miles). They were at the conference from Saturday until noon on Monday when they each staked a claim for their sleeping bags in our living room!! We have 4 spare bedrooms with beds in 3 so 2 teachers shared the one with the trundle bed and the lead teacher had her own room. Daughter and the kids slept in the 3rd upstairs bedroom with a queen futon and the most floor space. The high schoolers were really great! All very respectful, self-sufficient (of course!), appreciative, etc. Was a little worried about how they would all sleep, but the boy, who was a jewel (hung out in the kitchen with me several times--asked what he could help with, etc.), announced he was sleeping on the couch because "I'm not going to cuddle with the girls!". You have to admire a young man...15 probably....who has the confidence to go on a week long trip with a bunch of girls!!! He has a 17 year old sister and a 1-1/2 year old sister....so maybe it was comfortable for him. The kids all seemed to get along quite well but I'm sure they were happy to get home to their own beds!!
Daughter and the kids are driving home tomorrow....in the Escalade....PACKED to the gunwales!!! LOL. I call them the Beverly Hillbillies because I envision them driving down the highway with the hobo stick hanging out the back window because they ALWAYS overpack!!!!! This time, they had to make space for trash bags containing sleeping bags and pillows for 10 HS students PLUS all their own stuff....oh, and the MIL who is going home with them for a couple weeks!!!!!!! LOL. Good thing the vehicle has side mirrors because there is zero visibility out the back!!
Earlier this afternoon daughter and kids went to her MIL's (20 miles away) to spend the nite so they can leave from there in the morning. Traffic should be good on Sunday. MIL had been staying for 5-6 weeks but over Thanksgiving she talked to me about how it was just too long for everyone, she thought. She knew it was hard on everyone...and she was bored. I suggested maybe she wanted to shorten her stays!! Told her she could create the boundary that suited her....so I'm hopeful that made sense to her. I was surprised she didn't go up the last time the kids were here (in Feb.)....and this time is only staying 3 weeks so she can be back for something she has planned. We never visit our kids for more than a week (except when daughter had surgery and needed help). My grandmother always said a week was plenty because you don't want to wear out your welcome!! I think I may have quoted that as well in our conversation!!! 😋.
I am so looking forward to getting back on a couple lingering projects now that my "hostess with the mostess" is finished!!!!! YEA!!!
It was really fun...and Disneyland was great with the kids! Had not been there in several years, so timing was good. Now just to get to bed a little earlier because I always wake up when the sun comes up!!! LOL.
Hope everyone is doing well. It doesn't look like much has been happening on the board. We need DWTS to begin!!! LOL
XOXOXO

Hi All,
Well, it looks like it might be an interesting season. Some stars I know, some I do not and some I would rather not see. LOL !!! I have had a few inquiries about the game DO YOU SISTERS WANT TO PLAY THIS SEASON? DO WE HAVE ANY PRIZES LEFT TO PUT UP FOR THE WINNER(S)? I kind of forgot, but can go back and see if there are any left. lol I am not sure how this season will be "run" so I guess, if we want to do the game, we will start out as "normal" and see how things evolve. lol Anyway, please let me know if you want to do the game or not. Thanks
ÂHey Luv...I was just getting ready to leave to get get supper and saw you were onÂ

So, there will be 10 teams, and the show will last 4 weeks. They will have to eliminate at least two or three teams per week? Is that how we are supposed to understand it? Sasha is teamed with Tonya, and he is 5'9" I think. I wonder if she is too big for him to lift and/or throw around? Reminds me of Maks and Kirstie Alley. When he dropped her, he was a gentleman by saying it was his fault. I thought it was was because she was too big for him even though he's a big guy.Â

I don't care about a game; it's just fun for me to see what everyone else chooses.Â

So sorry to hear about your Mother-in-Law, CEK. Hope she is on the mend already. Is hubby able to visit? Â

Evening Everyone.
Sorry for my absence but it has been a hectic couple days here. As I posted a couple days ago my MIL was back in the hospital. After some initial test were back the results are that it does not appear that she had another stroke. She did have a mild heart attack and she has pneumonia. She had been unresponsive until late on Saturday night when she She was on oxygen at night and in the day when needed. We are not sure if her oxygen fell off during sleep or if she was testing to see how long she could go without it. Then yesterday morning after the doctor came in she had an episode of breathing trouble and severe pain between her shoulders. They gave her pain meds and steroids and she slept most of the day. Then last night she apparently had a really bad night and was in quite a lot of pain. They have not determined the cause of the pain. When the doctor came in this morning my sister in law asked if her other children should come and he said that my MIL was weak but there was no way to tell what will come in the days ahead but it may be a good idea to have them come. She is awake and seems to understand when you ask her things she just can't talk because of the oxygen she is on.
So hubby and his sister left about noon to head down there. They haven't gotten there yet and there has been no new news as yet.
Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts. Â
I will not post any news tonight because I am tired and waiting for hubby to call. i will see you all in the morning.
Hugs my dear friends.

Hope you are doing well and the fires have stopped for now.

Hope they succeed very soon in controlling the pain, while they find out what exactly is going on. Â

So sorry to hear that your MIL is in pain and things are a bit sketchy, CEK. Keeping her and your family in my thoughts and prayers....wishing all the best to her for a speedy recovery. So frustrating when they can't determine what the situation is. (((HUGS)))

It does all seem a bit odd, doesn't it, Annie? We are used to the 10 week show....so this will no doubt fly by....to say nothing of the fact that we really don't know what to expect!!
