On a personal note, our family has some very exciting news! New grandbaby! This is a bit unusual as our daughter and son-in-law are adoptive parents. They have 2 adopted daughters and have just become foster parents to a 3rd baby girl. This one is 13 mos. old; had been in the custody of a grandmother and aunt since she was 9 days old. I have much empathy for grandma and auntie as I cannot imagine how that must feel but both were in favor of the change, which is a very loving act in and of itself. The 90 day clock starts ticking now for termination of parental rights. After that the adoption can move forward.
Just wanted to share.....our whole family is excited!!
That is so awesome. It brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations and I hope things go smoothly for all.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if it was today or tomorrow. I hope it is a big turn out.
Hi, Luv. Anyone know if this is the last SOI show for a while? This one was quite disconnected from the tour they did during dwts. Maybe because it appears there is a pretty big skating community in SV and probably not much entertainment coming around resort areas in the summer!! Probably to help promote skating activities there come winter? Just wondering if Meryl will have a break from skating coming up.Hi Jet. I am not sure if they have anything planned for the end of Aug to the beg. of Oct. However, I do know that they start up shows again on Oct 19, those are the ones that will be taped and later put on TV. I guess that would only give them a few weeks break if that. I am sure they will have to practice for those and maybe change their routines??? They are sure busy. I have no idea how she is going to keep up with school work and such. I know she prides herself on her grades so I doubt she will have any free time for a social life with that and her skating schedule. It is a good thing that Maks is going to be part of a show with her or she would never see him. When does Maks start filming his movie? I think from now on, things might be pretty "dry" in the MnM '"crumb" department.
Oh, boooooo....that sounds a bit grim!!

That is pretty funny, actually!!! His expression is priceless!! Funny that apparently he had no talent as a kid so why would he want to have another go at it now??!! To try to get away from what his parents threw him into--or because he doesn't have other options? Personally I think his best gig is being an entrepreneur. He seems to do that pretty well. I just don't see the attraction of acting.....it is fraught with little fortune and less fame (except for the truly talented and lucky), can be a real heart wrenching experience for the personal life, and if you don't have talent to start with.....well, what the heck?!!! Stick with what you do and do well.....it will be much more likely to lead to success!!

From the Skating Forum.
[quote888]We have had lots of Meryl/Charlie encounters. They were on our flight to Sun Valley and they were scoping out the rink while we were skating this morning. They still seem to get embarrassed at being treated like celebrities. After we were done our session we watched the pro session. Most of the skaters practiced their show numbers. Ryan Bradley did huge triple toes, Jumping Joe did a triple as well they both did their backflips. Ashley Clark had my favorite number and got big applause. D/W practiced Scherezade and Rach. A skater who looked like Alexe Gilles was practicing. Craig Heath, Frank/Anita were skating, as well as Kim /Brent.
Craig Heath, Ashley Clark, Josef Svabotchek, Brent Bommentre, Ty Cockrum were at the rinks all morning doing lessons. Everyone is friendly and greets everyone.[/quote888]
Don't suppose anyone in that skating world will ask Meryl about Maks, tho, huh?!! LOL Probably more prim and proper than the Hollywood crowd!! HAHA
Jet, you are right on the money! When I went to my cousin's daughter's figure skating competion a few weeks ago (first time I have been to a skating comp), I was shocked by how quiet it was in the rink. You could have heard a pin drop! I am used to dance competitions where the audience cheers on the dancers. It seemed a little stuffy to me!! I think this is why Meryl was thrilled to be able to let loose with Maks!! xoxoxoxo[/quote888]
