Hey.....it’s great to see that CEK has been here! Thanks for posting stuff!!
I’m glad your weather has improved. Ours is actually quite lovely right now. Dunno how long that will last, but hopeful it will stay! High temps in the low 80s but we are having refreshing sea breezes, which make it all feel lovely!
Rumor has it that Voices of Hope will be performing on September 4....but I have not confirmed that as yet. It came from my daughter who just talked with her cousin (mom to the “performers!”), so assuming it is reasonably accurate. When I have it from multiple sources (all in the same household, I might add!!! LOL), I will let you all know.

Val Chmerkovskiy & Jenna Johnson Selected a Wedding Month! (Exclusive)
The 'Dancing With the Stars' pro also tells ET that their nuptials will take place sometime next year.
Looks like wedding planning is running smoothly for Val Chmerkovskiy and his fiancée, Jenna Johnson!
ET caught up with the Dancing With the Stars pro at the Hollywood premiere of former dance partner Victoria Arlen’s book and short film, Locked In, on Thursday, where he gave us an update on his upcoming nuptials.
Chmerkovskiy explained that he and Johnson, who got engaged in June, have not set a final date just yet, but they have selected the month they plan to say “I do.”
“We have kind of the time, the month,” Chmerkovskiy told ET’s Deidre Behar. “We’ve narrowed down the month, which is sometime next year.”
“It’s awesome,” he added, of what life has been like since becoming engaged. “It’s like Groundhog Day of awesome every day. I wake up, I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s great. I get to keep that forever!’”
It was a true DWTS red carpet reunion on Thursday, as plenty of pros and former contestants, like Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd and Drew Scott, came to support Arlen on her big night. The former paralympian swimmer joined Chmerkovskiy during our interview, where the two joked about her potentially officiating his wedding.
“No, no! ” exclaimed Arlen, when we brought up the idea to her. “I would straight-up cry. I’m such a sap at weddings.”
“First of all, she’s more than worthy, but as you can tell, she’s not very excited about it,” Chmerkovskiy joked. “So, I wouldn’t put her in that spot.”
Arlen told us, however, that she’s currently single at the moment, but when she does find the one, she would happily have Chmerkovskiy officiate. The two have remained tight pals since competing on season 25 of DWTS together. So close, in fact, that Arlen asked him to write the foreword in her new book.
“I’m so proud of her,” Chmerkovskiy raved. “She means a lot, and two and a half pages, which was the limit I was given, was not enough, obviously.”

Isn’t the above what you would call a misleading headline???? I didn’t find the month in the article either!!!

Before I get back to work, I wanted to tell you all that yesterday was the naturalization ceremony for our Korean family members! Hubby and I attended (along with thousands of other spectators!!!) and saw how the process works. The ceremony we attended was the 2nd of the day (2 this month). there were 3,506 applicants (of 5,000) who signed in and took the oath of allegiance in the afternoon. It was A GREAT DAY! The one thing that disappointed hubby and me was how many people around us did not put their hands over their hearts during the Pledge of Allegiance or the national anthem. It really made us sad.
After the oath, a couple speeches, a few videos, the pledge and national anthem we were “invited” to exit the hall (an LA Convention Center room officially became the courtroom by proclamation of some big wig) and wait for the newly sworn friends and family to come down the escalator. I swear I felt like I was meeting an international flight in the LAX terminal!!! LOL. Fortunately, our family came out pretty early and since I had told them I was wearing a bright red shirt with a stars and stripes heart with bling on it and stars and stripes sunglasses (honest—-I found them at Target the nite before!!!), they found us quickly!!!! LOL. LOL
We all had an early dinner at The Outback near us on the way home (they live in north Orange County). It was a most enjoyable visit...just the 7 of us...as we had time to reminisce about how our families came to mesh and some of our “most memorable moments”. It has been 22 years....more than half their lives ago....since our son went to college at ERAU in Prescott, AZ and met his roommate from Korea. The first Thanksgiving they were in school, our son asked if his roommate could come home with him for Thanksgiving as he had nowhere to go. Of course, we were more than happy to have him...and he has brightened our lives ever since! We have always been “Mom and Dad” and he has such a bright personality and disposition that he is delightful to have around. He had to go back to Korea for a few years to serve his military obligation, but always intended to come back and become a citizen—it was just a matter of finding a way and a time. His work sponsorship came in about late 2011 or early 2012. They lived in the Detroit area for about 5 years and managed to get a transfer to CA in early 2015. He has always called us his American family and we are extremely blessed to have him, his equally delightful wife, and 3 boys in ours!
Congrats to them and to all the new American citizens who did it the right way and were sworn in yesterday!
