Well here we go with a new thread for Season 27....Hard to believe we are still going 4 years later.

I look forward to DWTS the way some people can't wait for football season!! Thanks for keeping us going, CEK, and everyone who comments. I love reading what you all say, even if I don't totally agree.

I think that is the beauty we have here in the sisterhood.  We don't always agree on things, but everyone respects and "listen" to others comments.  I actually miss more diverse comments on here (as long as they are done in a nice manner).  It gives you something to think about and to kind of get an understanding of why people see things they way they do.  I really think that all of the sisters we "have left" who post or at least still lurk, are open to hearing everyone's comments.  SO LURKERS or sisters who don't post much.....jump right in on anything you wish to say.  WE all love you and whatever you have to say is important.

Okay.......I have no idea how I got up on this soap box....LOL  All I wanted to really say, was that I think we have a great bunch of people here and we do not always have to agree, but are willing to listen and still remain friends, so any of you lurkers, fill free to join in and "speak your mind". LOL

Hey, Annie, CEK, and Luv (in alphabetical order!).....*waving*.....so great to see the new thread (thanks, CEK), and to read your comments.

I can’t agree more that one of the greatest things about our sisterhood is that we respect one another’s opinions and can agree to disagree.  It shows that we are all adults and feel secure enough in ourselves to maybe take a risk on occasion, put ourselves “out there” so to speak, and also listen to others.  I remember taking on my father as a child/teenager; he was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable about what seemed like everything!!  I rarely “won” the arguments I created, but at least we had a hearty discussion which taught me how to discuss ideas and not emotions or personalities.  It’s important not to personlize differences of opinion.

Our eldest granddaughter (coming up 14 at the end of this month), who is homeschooled, is doing debates with her school mates as part of the curriculum.  Heavy and controversial topics such as abortion, should government be involved in health care, and a couple other doozies!!!  LOL. She’s a 9th grader but loves her logic and debate classes!

My brother and SIL are traveling back to VA Beach today.  It looks like they may have dodged a bullet with Florence.  Their son and family, who live near the beach, were prepared to evacuate originally, but once Flo changed course, they decided not to go.

Our weather is warm here also....but not unbearable.  At least we get cool evenings....and the high temp for the day (low 80s) only lasts for about an hour.  It is fairly typical for us to get the odd day or couple of days into the 90s in September and/or October.  So far, not too bad!

Gotta run....looking forward to chatting on the 24th!!

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Yes, I wondered why he didn't get paired with Sharna for another round of showmancing.  *lol*  He is a fine looking guy.

Sharna got Bobby Bones, who used to live here in Austin where he had a radio show. He auditioned (was her partner for a day) for the spot with Kelly Ripa that went, at first, to Michael. Bobby moved to Nashville after that, but when he's back Austin and wants a haircut, he goes to the salon where I get manicures, etc. I saw him there one day and told him I thought he did great with Kelly. He was friendly and sweet. He was one of the Miss America 2019 judges last weekend (along with Carrie Ann Inaba, the host). I hadn't watched Miss America for many years, 15 or 20. I wanted Miss Florida to win but didn't care that much. Miss New York, the winner, was my 2nd choice. I won't watch it again -- waste of time, for me.

How cool....you "know one of the stars".  Will you have to split your votes with him and Gleb & his partner? LOL  I am not sure I will vote this season, but will just see how it goes.  I always liked Mary Lou, so she might be a favorite of mine, but who knows. LOL

On Miss America, I haven't watched that in years.  I did hear that they cut out the swim suit competition.  Do you have any views or feelings on that?

BTW..........ANYONE.........when DOES the DWTS season start?

Ha Ha! Bobby wouldn't know me at all; I didn't even introduce myself, and I wouldn't know him from just looking at a picture. I know who five of the celebs are, and that's it.  I have voted only one season -- 18 -- when Meryl and Maks were at the bottom of the leader board. I don't think we should be allowed to vote. Not upset that we can but just don't want to mess with that. I did miss the swimsuit part but am glad they did away with it.

I haven't voted in a long time too.  I think I "massive" voted when Meryl was on the bottom. (online, several phones, ect. ......LOL)  I only know of three stars this season, so you "outrank" me there. LOL

I kind of enjoyed the swimsuit competition when I watched it as a kid, but now I kind of see why they got rid of it.  I could take it either way, but then again, I do not watch it anymore...so....really my opinion is mute. LOL !!!

I think this is an interesting pairing.  Hope they are fun to watch!  I’ve always liked Cheryl.

Anyone wondering....or know.....what Maks and Peta are doing now??!!  They’ve been uncharacteristically MIA.

Interesting, Annie, that you ran into Bobby Bones!  Pretty cool!  I’m sure he thought you were friendly and sweet as well!

I haven’t watch Miss America or any of the other pageants in decades either.  I guess they are mainly for the younger set?!!!  LOL.

Hey, Luv.....pretty sure it begins September 24.  I think it was in one of the posts from CEK??  Not sure...but pretty sure of the date.  Makes sense since AGT ends this week.
