    I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer.     I know what you mean.  Our Lab is still young enough to be healthy and spry but in a couple of years he probably won’t be so perky.

    Pabst is doing pretty good too.  Had a tummy problem a couple weeks ago that is gone now and he gets this rash stuff all the time.  I have medication to put on it and I bought some “natural” ointment from a company and it is great.  Humans can use it too.  But he is doing ok!

     
    What kind of rash did Pabst have?  Our Lab had a bad bout with dermatitis this summer.  I started adding some olive or avocado oil to his food, which helped clear it up, it seems.  I’m wondering, tho, if some of it was the dog shampoo didn’t get completely hosed off from a bath.  He chewed himself up pretty well.  But it’s all cleared up now.  Last bath I used Ivory soap...and seemed to be fine.

     
    It starts as rough spots that turn red and crusty then as they dry up his fur may come out a bit and it peels as it heals.  He gets it a lot between his back legs but has had it under his neck and on his body in spots.
    The doctor gave us a spray for anti-fungal/bacteria problems and I got some ointment that uses natural oils and other natural things.  It works I also use their soap for problems too.  I have used one of the ointments for dry skin.  The company is “Natural Dog Comany”.
