Interesting article from last year. I think this season was Maks last but it looks like Julianne may still owe up to 3 years on her contract.Wonder if that played a hand in the decision to chose her over Maks. They may have had to pay Maks more and he may not have agreed to a strict contract.They already had Julianne in their clutches and if she wants any kind of career, she has to finish her contract.

DWTS had to know that Maks is their biggest draw, and they are probably mad that he didn't want to dance again. He would have pulled in the viewers like crazy! So, they are going to punish him! I am pretty sure you are right on that. But she's philosophical and has been around subjective judging all her life so she knows how it doesn't really mean that much. Certainly not as a single event. It is what you gain from the experience that matters--and that is what makes you who you are. It's not the wins and losses--except for the biggies like the Olympic gold medal and the MBT this time. The rest is pretty much meaningless fluff, imo.
