Anyway, if anyone has an idea on what to look into, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't mind paying a little more if it is worth it....lol

I bought two laptops over the last two years.  One around July last year for my 13 year old to be used for online gaming, such as Fortnite ect with a relatively good graphics card and memory was the equivalent of USD 1000.  The other one for myself in about October/November was USD 450.  It does everything I wanted it to do, such as streaming, e-mail, word processing and being on here with you.  Both are HP.  Our support worker, who is also a game designer took my son to a couple of the big electronics retail outlets in the next big city.  He felt it was important that he liked the 'feel' of the keyboard and so they tried the display models.  However, once he had decided for his favourite e manufacturer, we had a look at the HP website and mail ordered online.  The equivalent model was around USD 150 cheaper than in retail.

If you let me know what you want to do with it, in terms of programs you want to run, files ect that you want to store, I can get our support worker to tell me what minimum specifications he would recommend, in terms of RAM, graphics and hard drive storage and get back to you.  You could then search for the model online.  Our support worker who designs games professionally, has a top of the range DELL.  So, I guess that would be a good brand to consider as well.  If you want to let me know here or as PM, I will run it by him.  We see him next in 24 hours from this post.

EDIT:
I had the exchange rate wrong.  USD 1000 for my son played almost all the high end games that were out at the time.
You would have probably looked at the screen size when in the shops?  I'm assuming here that you'll go for a laptop.  Or do you want a PC tower?

Hi gabriele.....I am looking for a desktop tower....never really had a laptop before, so they scare me even more on buying....lol......I emailed you....having a few issues with my iPad, so I hope you get it. Lol

It was most memorable year.  The drag queen celebrity did a dance starting in drag and finishing as a guy in underwear.  I wished you could see it.  We'd have much to discuss.

The actor Samuel Johnson who holds the Guiness Book of records for uni-cycling (nearly 10,000 miles cycled to raise fund for breast cancer awareness) danced in memory of his sister who died of breast cancer in 2017.  It was a tear jerker...   .https://www.facebook.com/DancingOn10/videos/372525443337858/

Sounds like a very interesting season. I didn't know that the judges had a number 1 paddle.  That is terrible that they would be so harsh, especially someone in that age category and star power.  Yep, len and his 4s, do not seem so bad now.  Glad sharna gave her at least a 4.....which I think is still too low....lol

Re: Get ready for DWTS Season 27

Good evening, Sisters!

Seems like it has been a very looooong time since I’ve been able to check the MB, much less post.  We were in Anchorage, AK for 6 days thru last weekend for the Paciic District Girls’ Ice Hockey Championships.  Anchorage is gorgeous in winter dress with snow on all the mountains as well as the ground.  Temperatures were from about 28-38 degrees F during the day....colder at night...but we had the clothes for it so we were very comfortable.

Granddaughter’s team advanced to the semi-finals against a very good AK team from the other bracket.  They lost the semi-final game 2-1, but were the first to score a goal against that AK team in the tournament!  The AK team had scored 16 goals to zero scored against them in their first 3 games!  It was quite an accomplishment for the Little Team That Could from San Diego, CA!  Officially they are the #1 14UAA team on the West Coast since AK is its own entity and has some different rules.  There is about a 50-50 chance our team could get an “at large” bid to the Nationals in Buffalo, NY in early April.  There are at least 4 openings at this point.  One of the criteria in the selection is geographical location...and since the West Coast is a pretty large area with no representation if they don’t select a team from it, the coach thinks we might have a good chance.  It probably helps that he also knows just about anyone and everyone in the hockey association....in a good way!  He is a really nice man and very classy and ethical, which stands for everything in my book!  A game is just a game; what you do and who you are follows you through life.  . If it happens we will be excited; if not, they certainly represented themselves and their team extremely well!

We arrived back in LA on the red eye Tuesday morning at 5:30, then picked up the grandchildren on Friday for the weekend!  Today is our son’s birthday so granddaughter and I made a German chocolate cake to deliver.....and celebrate with him....at our half-way meeting place this afternoon!!  It is actually a large sports complex right off the freeway...just about half way between us.  We even lit the candles and sang “Happy Birthday”!!

Going to the tax guy tomorrow morning early.  Will be glad to get that out of the way!!

Hope everyone is well....I feel so out of touch!  I’ve missed you all!!

XOXOXO

I absolutely love him, and he’s an incredible person. We have this friendship that I have no doubt in my mind is a life-long friendship.  Getting a chance to know him away from training for Dancing With the Stars, I think we've gotten a chance to know each other in a different way, which of course just makes you closer. Hey, Luv.....in case you haven’t yet decided on a computer (I’m no more techy than you are so I would listen to Gabriele!!)....and just FYI....we have had 3 computers over about 20 years.  All of them were Dells.  The first was a tower; the other 2 were laptops.  I much prefer the laptop since it is portable and doesn’t take up the space.  With the wifi capabilities that all of them have now, you can downsize your computer space substantially with a laptop and still have all the amenities and more.  We have been very happy with the Dells, although I cannot tell you at this point what we even paid for the last one, which is now probably 6-7 years old.  The backlighting on the previous one failed at some point in its life, which couldn’t be fixed.  I think we downsized from tower to laptop years ago at our son’s suggestion because we wanted to put it in a smaller space.  We have just eliminated the computer desk altogether and only need a space for the printer (which is HP).  Keep the computer and mouse in a cupboard since the iPad is where I do most things.  I don’t know if this is helpful at all, but that is our experience....overall pretty easy.

Oh—don’t be intimidated by going to a laptop....you can use it anywhere, take it with you if you want to, and it does everything the tower models do!!!  USB ports are the key these days.

Good luck with whatever you do and whatever you purchase!  ((HUGS))

Hi Jet,  I have been talking to Gabriele about "computers".  She and her tech guy have been EXTREAMLY helpful.  I do still have a few issues about it, but it is something that can't be dealt with "from across the seas". LOL !!!!!

Re: Get ready for DWTS Season 27

Well Guess who...I have finally made it back to the office after long week of one thing after another from not feeling to good to internet issues and sick grandchildren, sick friends in the hospital and at home working with Oliver to try to see what is going on with him.  These have consumed my mind and my hours in the day.  But I am am here and hoping you are all doing well and that hopefully a breath of spring is coming your way after this terrible winter storm moves across the country and leaves.  It is 70 here today and tomorrow and I would love for this to stay forever.

I will be so glad when the fall season of DWTS returns cause there isn't much good on the television right now except for NCIS and NCIS NO which keeps skipping weeks with a new episode.  So I have started making a "What to Do if I go in the Hospital or are not at home Binder"  It is amazing when you start putting on paper what you do from day to day that the rest of your family has no clue about or what they would have to do if I were to not be here for an extended period of time.  I was tired just writing it down thinking about it.  LOL

Well I will pop over to the news and see what I have missed in that department.

Ah, it is. It's the first day of autumn! A time for hot chocolatety mornings, and toasting marshmallow evenings, as best of all, leaping into *leaves*!
