We have had an extremely busy first quarter of 2019!! Hubby has had two angiogram procedures to put stents in major heart arteries. Very odd because he has had no really obviously symptoms...and since he complained at 38 that he thought he was having a heart attack, the occasional mention of low grade chest pains were basically blown off by me!!!
. But all is well....he is fine, the procedures are amazing....go in thru the wrist artery (not even a stitch afterwards to close it!), they do all the work with a tiny camera that goes up the artery to the heart and “snoops” around—and which they insert the stents as well!!! He spent the nite in the hospital after each procedure (one 1/30 and one 4/1) but that is only so they could monitor an EKG for 12 hours. They only give twilight sleep so no real recovery other than to monitor the pressure on the incision to be sure there is no bleeding.
Meanwhile, hubby’s sister’s husband has spent the past 3 months in the hospital recovering from a near lethal dose of chemo for the lung cancer they diagnosed in early November. It has been touch and go for more than 2 months, although he has now been in a skilled nursing facility for about 3 weeks....regaining strength for whatever lies ahead. Based on his overall condition and complicating issues, they have not been able to even attempt any further treatment for the cancer. So that is an evolving story. My SIL has been there EVERY DAY from the beginning and literally snatched him from the jaws of death at least 3 times when the docs, who didn’t really know him or his issues, might have let him slip away.
On a lighter and more positive note, we were in Alaska in March for granddaughter #1’s District Championships for ice hockey. They finished 4th in the tournament behind 3 excellent Alaska teams, so technically they finished #1 on the west coast in their division (Alaska is its own entity and plays by slightly different rules). It was a very respectable showing and the girls played extremely well. They weren’t chosen for one of the 2 “at large” slots in the national tournament, but that is ok. They are playing roller hockey tournaments in the off season to keep in shape!!!
We are having a crowd on Easter, including my brother and SIL (from VA), their daughter and her family (they are all going to Disneyland for 3 days first—niece won tix and resort lodging on radio show in PHX!), our son and family, as well as our Korean familiy (son’s college roommate who lives in the area). A local niece and SIL may also come over for a while. Daughter and the 3 granddaughters are arriving on Monday for almost 2 weeks!! The eldest of the 3 won the county science fair and is competing in the state competition April 29-30 in LA following their Easter break week which begins next Monday. Just call us the Dos Lobos Inn and Suites!!! LOL. I think I need an event planner!!!! LOL
Just seeing on TV that Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is buring....almost demolished.![]()

Wishing all my sisters a wonderful week and a blessed Easter. I will try to check in more often..... I know....promises, promises!!!
XOXOXOHi Jet, I am so glad that you popped in. I have been thinking about you. I am glad that the DRs found and corrected the issues with your Hubby's heart/arteries. I was fascinated to read about how they went through the wrist artery and fixed the issue. AMAZING what can be done nowadays. It sounds like it almost could have been done as an outpatient except for the fact they needed to monitor him to make sure all was well.
God Bless your SIL. To be there everyday......wow......that has to be difficult and stressful in itself not to mention dealing with the major issue her hubby is facing. Glad she was there "to rattle the cages" (as a friend did for my mother a long time ago) to get the Doctors to do something. I have no doubt that your SIL getting the Doctors to "do something" saved his life on those many occasions. I know that was the case with my mother.
What a wonderful Easter celebration you will have. How exciting for niece to win a trip to Disneyland. It sounds like you will have quite the household for awhile, but I know you wouldn't want it any other way. LOL
I just saw the church burning on the news......yes, it is so...so....sad. At first, I thought arson but I guess, they are thinking it was an accident. Either way, what a lost.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter. HUGS
Hi,Luv.....I’ve been thinking of you too! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Thanks for your comments....and enjoy Easter!

Good Morning Sisters, I hope you all had a good weekend and and wonderful Easter with your family and friends.
I must apologize for not posting yesterday as we were gone almost all day and I was pooped when I got home.
So I will wish everyone a day late....
I also want to wish everyone...
This month has been quite trying for me and the family...The month of April is when both my parents passed and both of hubby's parents passed and we lost two dogs in April. For some reason this year has been a little tough. For one, the 20th of April was a year since we lost my MIL.
The odd thing about all this was brought to my attention by someone we were talking with.
My father-in-law passed away April 2 on a Friday
My mother passed away April 8 on a Friday
My daddy passed away April 16 on a Friday
and my Mother-in-law passed away on April 20 on a Friday,
All in April, all even number dates and all on Friday.
Strange huh...
Well hubby is calling for me, we have an errand to run but I will be back later to see what news is out.
Have a great Monday.
HUGS
