What an incredible almost 12months of new adventures, new challenges, being outside my comfort zone and realizing the things I am capable of. It has been thrilling, terrifying, satisfying, soul feeding and dream making. The judging, the acting, the singing and the building.. None of these things would’ve happened had I not been given a chance nearly 9 years ago by one of the greatest shows on television. When I reflect I can’t help but be grateful for @dancingabc and for the the opportunity it gives me to grow, learn, and create for all of you guys to make you smile, cry and laugh. To work with someone and get to show them how to share their story through dance like I’ve known my whole life. It’s beautiful, it’s a gift and I treasure it. I treasure the life DWTS has given me. A life I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams. I know the new season is coming up, THERE IS NO HIDDEN MESSAGE OR HINT HERE, just a lot of love and gratitude I wanted to share after a moment of reflection. Love and gratitude for my #DWTS family and for all of you guys. Thank you, I love you, and if anything take from this that you should dream big, you are capable of more than you know. ♥️ BRING ON SEASON 28 BABY!!! .

Meryl Davis - I often catch myself thinking about what other people have… how their lives are, how they look, feel, think & exist. Truly, I believe it’s a plague on our generation. While I’m fully aware that we can hardly begin to fathom the difficulties experienced by the generations before us, I do believe that the comparison game we #Millennial and #GenZ individuals often find ourselves in is partly as a result of this relatively new daily rhythm - our constant connectedness & digitally “supported” lives. As a millennial, myself, I find it interesting to think that I am among those of the last generation to truly recall what it’s like to grow up without the technology that we’re now so dependent upon. While I do not have answers to a problem I don’t believe our culture/society fully yet understands, I do know that I owe it to myself and to my followers to be forthcoming about how I feel. We are experiencing an unprecedented way of life. We have information & communicative abilities at our fingertips at all times, yet many of us also experience a pervasive sense of dissatisfaction & catch ourselves wondering if we’ll ever be “enough.” I am neither a major celebrity, nor am I under the impression that people think my life is perfect…. but I do feel it right to acknowledge & share that I too have my difficulties. Here on Instagram, I often share moments of fun & adventure, which I love, but when you scroll Instagram & are under the impression that everyone’s life is better than yours & that everyone is doing more, accomplishing more, living more & has it all figured out… please know that you’re not alone. This is a societal & cultural problem, in my humble opinion, that must be further studied & explored in order to be properly understood, but I believe it to be important that we often remind one another of this fact: Life is real & beautiful in all its imperfections… everyone has them, feels them & goes through highs & lows. Let’s not allow our social media crazed culture to force us into forgetting that. Xo
